You see the difference here is I just ignore all that bolox because I know there is absolutley no chance whatsoever of me being able to do anything about it. Just a waste of emotional energy.

These things have no 'real' effect on your life and they will have no 'real' effect on your life wherever you chose to live it. You will have other 'real' things effect your life more directly in a foreign country. Still, if bribing officials floats your boat then fair enough.
