P.S. Another interesting fact about Mancini, did you know that until united dumped City out of the FA cup this season he had been to a semifinal or better of ever national cup competition for each team he has managed.

3 days after Chris Foy (abley assisted by Wayne Rooney) "dumped" City out of the cup we played Liverpool in the Carling Cup Semi-Final.

Not quite true, Boris. He didn't get us to the CC semi or better in the same season. If I recall, he got us unceremoniously dumped out against West Brom in the first game.

OP

If you complain about your own article then ask the admins to tag United to this part two in the complain text box, they will do it for you

We've been in a SF every season he's been in charge, admittedly Hughes got us to the CC-SF first time.

True, but it's not quite what you said originally. Last season, we didn't get past the third round of the CC due to a selection of kids against West Brom. Although I'd forgive him that because we got the FA Cup instead.

That's what he said which doesn't really make sense as we got to the FA Cup semi last season, I just pointed out that we got to a semi this year as well.

Sorry Boris. That'll teach me to not read the original article.

Remember both coaches had poor starts in Europe with their respective clubs.

Man utd won the european cup winners cup first time asking after the ban on england for europe was lifted.

The 1990–91 season of the European Cup Winners' Cup was won by Manchester United against Barcelona. It was a great return to European football for English clubs, who had endured a five-year ban after the Heysel Stadium disaster.

The European Cup Winners Cup, eh? Wow, and there was me thinking it was a second tier competition. That's what we get told when we mention our winning it...

"A few months after referee helped City (abley assisted by Mario Ballotelli) "beat" United at Old Trafford."

The key difference being Balotelli didn't chase down the referee and ask for a card to be waved.

Oh, that and the fact we hit you three times in four minutes because of your comikaze* defending.

* An amalagam of "comical" and "kamikaze". Because you killed yourself and it was hilarious to watch you do it.

Chase down?!

Chase down?!?

You have a very interesting definition of the word chase, if that can actually be classed as a chase it must hold some kind of world record as the shortest one. Also granted my sign language isn't brilliant but does what just looks like a footballer appealing for a free kick actually mean send this player off?

If so then we have players regularly asking for other players to be sent off, even if the ball just nicked off that person and went out for a throw...

Not sure what the second part has to do with anything but yes our defending at the end could easily be described as comikaze (nice word)

Rooney ran at the referee waving his arm in the air and his hand positioned in a way which could conceivably be holding something rectangular and flat. Now I could be wrong, but the very fact he approached the referee when NOBODY ELSE saw anything wrong, the fact that Foy only reached into his pocket AFTER Rooney's antics, would lead me to suspect that there was some influence.

As for the second bit, it's totally relevant as you suggested the ref won us the game, when in fact he didn't, you gave us a massive win by trying too hard to get a draw.

Rooney did move a bit more then I remembered, it could still not be classed as chasing as the referee was going in Rooney's direction anyway...

Rooney had his arms outstretched appealing, players appeal all the time that doesn't mean they are actually credited with the corner, yellow card, red card or penalty.

There was one person and one person only who got Kompany sent off. That was Kompany himself. If it makes you feel better to blame Rooney then go for it but I am pretty sure that is not what the referee's report reads.

Also Foy got his card out within seconds, it would have been extremely difficult for him to get a card out before Rooney appealed as he appealed the second the challenge was made. Do you actually watch football?

Players usually appeal within about half a second whereas a referee has to actually make a decision and pull the card out of his pocket, try having a race with a friend where all he has to do is appeal for the decision whereas you have to evaluate the incident and pull out the relevant card. Unless your friend suffers from some badly delayed reactions he will beat you to it every time...

Actually what I was suggesting was that if you going to give credit for United's victory to the referee than you also have to give credit for City's victory to the referee. They both spotted red card offences and handed out red cards for them which to some people is winning the game for the opposition.

I guess congratulations are in order for your MASSIVE win then, what did you win for it?
