You seem shocked?

I have no doubt he will deny he was there,

more shame on the club name,

can it get worse? One to forget.

What a season!

So he is hung, drawn and quartered before any one of us knows what happened?
I doubt very much whether he would have wanted to play in L1 for us but i was hoping he would do.

posted on 16/4/12

What did he do?
Push Ashley Young over

With his reputatation I would think that he gets provoked by people when he goes out so always a chance of him biting back and this could be the case

Superwhites, that is what i was thinking too.

It is a pity him and warnock had that spat in prem as he would do excellent for leeds next season would deffinately will not happen

I have made no assumptions on his guilt or otherwise hound. My suspicions are we'd seen the last of him already, but I can't imagine Mr Ryan will want this sort of publicity about our club when the MacKay stuff is still rumbling on.

His football has at times been sublime, but he does seem to be a ticking time bomb both on & off the pitch.

No DR4E, i dont suppose JR would want any more bad publicity but i bet he would like EHD playing for us next season.
I think that Dioufs temperament is dodgy but that is what you get with him.
Everyone knows it and you have to take what you get if he is your player.
I said on saturday that he may have already played his last game for us.
Speaking of JR, i thought he did remarkably well to hold back on what he really thought about the ref on saturday.

He certainly did better than I did hound!

Few four lettered expletives came out, what a muppet he was!

To be honest Hound, I thought that the interview with Bryn Law was a disgrace. John Ryan, as Chairman needs to be more guarded in what he says and how he says it.

A manager is the person who should end up being fined for bringing the game in to disrepute, that's expected, NOT a Chairman who has other, private avenues to make his thoughts known. JR is a fan, but he is also Chairman ( for a little longer) of a Championship club.

NY, what he said neeed saying.
I thought he could have said a whole lot more but didnt.
Bryn Law did the classic journalist thing and caught JR while he was still fuming.
There was a lot of really bad feeling in the ground at the end of the game and this was obviously picked up on by the management as there was a stadium announcement a few seconds before the dyk in black blew the final whistle, asking fans not to invade the pitch at the end of the game.
Although i did see a couple of fans in the east stand being restrained by stewards i am pleased to say that no-one went over the barriers.

I am not saying it didn't need to be said Hound, it would have been better for Saunders to have said it.

I fully support your view NY JR should present his dissatisfaction with the ref in a more effective way. "Don't get mad get even" springs to mind.

Having read Copps comments on Sky with reference to Diouf and the rest perhaps the full story is coming out?

Copps comment on big names:
"You need passion, commitment and togetherness and it just shows sometimes if you haven't got that, you don't do anything in football."

Selective memory or what?
He soon forgot a lot of rubbish from last season!

It's easy to say the experiment failed, now with hindsight, but it doesn't prove another way would have been better.
I do accept that it could not have been much (any) worse.

Hindsight is a wonderfull thing isnt it.

posted on 16/4/12

Alex, i have just read your "dont get mad, get even" comment.
How could JR get even with the ref?
I am suprised that Copps has gone public with his views on the experiment.
I wonder if that will impact on whether he will be with us next season.

I think Copps is very brave or silly to have made these comments as I am sure it will offend something in his contract.

I dont think it is a matter of hindsight more like the original players hands were tied until now. These comments will not endear him to the Board/management and Copps could well be on his bike. I hope not as I consider him a key player Lanzo.

Hound,
JR has access to the Refs assessor straight after the game and all he should have done is make his comments to him. Failing that he makes the ref subject of report to the league, job done. There is no need to get the club find as I am sure we will.

I would have liked to have seen a statement just saying
" I have made my views known to the appropriate authorities that he made a number of dubious decisions which cost us the game" or words to that affect.

The ref I feel sure will be disciplined and there was no need for the emotional outburst that gets us find.

Now having said that I think I would have found it difficult not to have done the same.

I just think the whole place is imploding. I have just read Coppingers comments and to be honest if I were John Ryan he would be out of my club today. He is a paid ( highly paid) professional whose job is to play football.

To say that the old guard was responsible for the success and not to accept that that same old guard was not responsible for what happened prior to Saunders and McKay is ridiculous.

He is paid to play with whoever the manager selects, remember those players who accepted JR coming on as a sub at Hereford. Where were the complaints from Coppinger about that?

Please Mr Coppinger do us all a favour and look around for another club as what you are doing will infect the rest of the team.

Do what you like when you have left, burn the bridges, but do not do it whilst still a contracted player at Doncaster Rovers.

Looking from out side his comments sound of someone who thinks he will be at another championship club next season.do donny fans think that he would be excellent signing for a club going for promotion from championship next season as I know he has been a fans fav since your promotion from L1,

Something happened before that Derby game and it followed on to the Millwall game which put an end to our season. I was at the West Ham game which was a brilliant performance. I just could not believe the Millwall performance it was very poor, what happened?
My guess is that there was a big split between the two groups just what I don't know but it must have been a major issue.

Is it right that Copps makes his views known now? I dont think so.

Should he let us know what went wrong? yes I think he owes it to us but at the end of the season, that is the right time but with no recrimination against him.

I would hate to see him disciplined as I view him as a very loyal servant of our club.

The point is Alex, was he allowed to make these comments, was he given permission by the Media department, as he WAS speaking to the MEDIA. He was not talking off the record to a fan who then comes on here or VSC and says, Copps told me this, or Copps told me that. They also need to be careful what they say on twitter etc.

As a contracted player, he must know that what he says will have repercussions. What would you have done Alex if one of your firemen had gone to the press about something without speaking to you first?

I am sorry, but this is just sour grapes at the wrong time. Maybe I would have a differeeent view had this come up in the close season, but he is creating problems whilst the season, for what it's worth is still ongoing.

posted on 16/4/12

Basically, Copps is saying "it wasn't my fault".

He probably believes that, and it is probably true, but it is also a fact that he was part of the problem that caused the TEAM to fail, somewhat miserably.

posted on 16/4/12

The poor performances this season are not Copps' fault, because he was awful most of last season too!
Do I think he should go, no. He can probably do a job for us in League 1, but he's certainly not up to the championship challenge week in week out. Has far too many 'off' games for me.
Will I be sorry to see him go (if he does). Yes and no, for all the reasons above.

Think it is time for a good old spring clean at Rovers, there's too much going bad on the surface.
