See i think there's a good list of manager who we could get, but the ones that we want aren't available now.

Obviously my first choice is Villas-Boas, and unless we pay his release clause we won't get him until the season after next at the earliest.

There's decent managers like O'Neill who i think giving the proper funding and a bigger squad could do a good job. He had a very small squad at Villa, that's why they did well up until the later stages of the season when they burnt out.

Sevilla's manager is available after he got sacked, and he played pretty attacking football with them.

At the moment, out of the ones who could take the club forward, i don't think that there are any that are available.

I wouldn't be completely against Van Basten, provided he had some like Zola as his assistant or Hiddink as Director.

So say we get 2 of Neymar, Lakuku, Aguero what will our strike force be like next season? Will Drogba have to leave?

CF: Torres, Aguero, Lakuku, Sturridge, Kalou, Drogba
out: Malouda, Zhirkov, Anelka

I think we'll get Lukaku and Neymar. I'll be surprised if we get Aguero.

Best formation for the attackers i can think of so that everyone plays and it looks a decent formation

I'd say something like:

Kakuta - Neymar - Sturridge
Torres

Or we could have

Aguero - Neymar - Sturridge
Torres

Start Lukaku off slowly if we get him. Start him in every Carling Cup match and F.A cup depending on opponents. And bring him on and start him in a few premiership matches. Rotating with Torres.

First Choice to last -
- Mourinho
- Hiddink
- Guardiola
- Moyes
- Oneil
- Ranieri (Don't ask why)
- Carlo (Bring him back)

Do you think that Wilkins was tinned so as to unsettle Carlo?

Steve

Can't see Kakuta at Chelsea next season. I think he will go out on loan maybe even to a championship team to gain first team experience. I still think he needs to prove his self.

I think Wilkins will always remain a mystery. Doubt it was done to unsettle Carlo, i would find it hard to believe that they would do there best to get Carlo unsettled when we were in good form.

Thing that got to me was, i'd be hugely concerned that our loss in form was because Ray went, didn't really say much for Carlo in terms of manager if the squad went down hill because of Wilkins.

Frank -

Well we could change Kakuta, just used him as an example lol, but you can see where the players would fit in.

That's why i think we should go all out for the 3 of Neymar/Lukaku/Aguero. Cost a bomb but it would be worth it for the next 10 or years that we would get from all 3, maybe even more from Neymar and Lukaku.

Interesting...interesting indeed.

Apparantly the bookies have officialy suspended all betting on Redknapp to be new Chelsea manager.

But, some of them still have Marco Van Basten as favourite for the job.

Hmm, i think we could get Aguero even if Kalou left to be honest.

Aguero has had his best season at Athletico and that's been mostly playing from the right where Kalou/Anelka would play.

I think Drogba will stay regardless even if we get Lukaku.

But again if we get De Bruyne, i expect that Kalou will leave either now or the season after next.

Bets are now 6/4 for us to get Aguero, think weve gone ahead of Real as favourites.

Gazza -

Iv'e never really believe that to be honest. Not what you said, but about the transfers at Chelsea.

At Milan the transfers were supposedly "controlled" by Berlusconi and Galliani, and that is why people said Ancelotti never dipped into the transfer market often, even when it was clear he needed to.

Now here's what i don't get, Allegri took over as manager at A.C, they have signed/loaned roughly 6-7 players in the space of two transfer windows. Now why would they give pretty much limitless transfers to a practically unproven manager, and hardly anything to a Champions League winning manager?

It dosen't add up. I think Carlo just likes to squeeze every last drop out of his players. It's no coincidence that while players like Seedorf/Pirlo/Nesta etc were brilliant, they needed to be changed, but Carlo stook to his ways. Very much like Wenger in the transfer market, he believes in the youth, where Carlo believes in the veterans.

Looking at it again, Carlo has always said that the funds are there, surely he should put that to better use other than just signing Ramires pretty much at the time?

* Stuck , Stook? it's not that late yet

I think next season will be kalou's last at Chelsea. He has already started asking questions on why he is not starting and if we get Aguero then he may decide to pack his bags.

Malouda will stay for at least another season or 2. The only way he is going to leave Chelsea is if Chelsea force him out.

Got a feeling Drogba will be with us for another 3 or 4 years.

But even looking at it again, while January is a notoriously "bad" window to sign players in, he said at the time that we would only go for Luiz and if we didn't get him we wouldn't get anyone.

And by that time we had Benayoun out etc, not sure if Lampard was still out at the time, and Carlo had seen by then that the youngsters weren't working as Bruma/Sturridge/PVA were sent out on loan.

But the thing again is Carlo still didn't go for any more players. Now if we think of it being a case of Roman in charge of the transfers, i think we would have signed atleast 1 midfielder at the time.

Well I guess we'll have to just force Malouda out the club then!

posted on 26/5/11

Ahh but that's my point. Going back to you saying that Carlo wanted to keep Carvalho etc, but Roman didn't, by the time January had come around we had injuries and youngsters going out on loan etc.

Which is why i think Roman would have signed more players at the time to strengthen the squad because he could see it needed it in more areas other than defence and upfront.

Midfield was lacking all season, and i think that in the summer Carlo would have been giving more funds than what we spent.

And like i said going back to his Milan days, he never really did much in the transfer market.

I wouldn't mind Jarvis, he won't set the world on fire but i think he's a decent talent. Likewise with Albrighton.
