BK - He is slightly better than that. Ofcourse we could do better, but he would offer something a bit more direct and different. I wouldn't be shouting for the deal but wouldn't mind it.
Steve - Jovetic is a fantastic footballer. Likes to play left wing/AM tho, a bit like Mata, Suppose you could have one wide and 1 behind the striker tho, plus Mata can play right. Options are never a bad thing.
I don't see how Cahill is worth 15m. 8-10m seems fair to me for a player in the last year of his contract with no top level experience.
-
Easy to see why he is worth £15m plus.
He is integral to Bolton, for a start, and they get to determine his value based on getting a replacement with 5 days left in the market as good as him. They will also want to be seen as making a profit on him.
Then you have to consider the fact that he is better than all of Arsenal's defenders other than Vermaelen. Arsenal just got a combined total of 60m for Nasri and Cesc, they need a midfielder, winger, striker, but most importantly a defender. Arsenal's need and recent cash influx entitles bwfc to push up the price.
He is also english and homegrown, thats a premium.
Also take into account that he is still young and not near his peak. He is technically gifted, very clever in defence and potentially world class player who could be integral to a big six team in the PL.
Easily worth £15m.
gazza - Pereira isn't good enough to be a first choice CM, no chance.

npe - i understand all of those things, but Bolton need money, they are struggling and will lose him for nothing next year. How essential is he? Maybe we would see them drop from higher mid table to lower mid table?
In reality he has no top level experience and has 1 year left on his contract. It is entirely up to Bolton what they value him at and if they want 15m thats fine, if they want 100m that's fine, but in the end they are doing themselves out of money for a player who wil leave anyway. You can;t use Nasri as a comparison because he is an established international with CL experience, plus it was City bidding.
nned one of Modric or Moutinho.
But Moutinho is a tad pricey, and Modric is now deffo not coming.
Sad day.
I just hope we buy Gary Cahill to bolster our defence. And find a to notch CM.
Also, I would love Anelka to leave, and Alex is sadly going apparently
Rumours going around that Chelsea will increase the bid for Pereira to 20M.
Cahill is very good but for a player in the last year of his contract nothing more than 12million for me. A much more comparable example is N'Zogbia
I agree on that part npe, we NEED a top quality CM.
Steve - i;d imagine that rumour to be true. Rather that money was spent elsewhere but never mind
AVB must know something we don't ahout how he wants to use Perriera.
If he wants to spend this much money on him.
KDL - Yeah i think we'll land Pereira even if we have to pay his release clause (think it was 24M).
Hopefully weve got a CM signed by Monday. I think if we leave to deadline day then we could risk losing out on Modric/Moutinho.
Still i think we could see another 3 players in.
Modric/Moutinho - Davila - De Bruyne.
Maybe a CB but i'll be surprised.
As in maybe he wants him as a starter and not a squad player like we assume.

Soon it may be Liverpool and Chelsea bidding, and they can offer the money bwfc want.
How essential is he?
Very.
Maybe we would see them drop from higher mid table to lower mid table?
The difference between 8th and 14th in the PL is a lot less prize money.
He has played in the EPL, the best league in the world. He is tried and tested at this level. Sure he has no CL experience yet, but neither do many big signing players in this day and age, he has a lot of quality, a huge amount of potential and is a snip at £15m.
BK - Don't see Lukaku leaving on loan. Be very surprised if he does go out.
he played there as part of a midfield 3 gazza with everyone rotated. pereira is nothing like Zhirkov in playing style or ability. He is high energy up and down the line but he is exactly what you seem to hate in a midfielder, no passing ability or goal threat. If we end up with pereira as part of a first choice midfield I will be very disappointed. As a belletti style cover for Lb and CM then fair enough, and he would probably play a lot of matches in that role, but first choice CM, you surely don't see that as an improvement or a move forward?
Why are we so eager to get shot of Alex...
Can't understand this thinking....
Agreed Steve, he wouldn't go on loan the same month Drogba will go(to ACON). It would make more sense for him to go on loan the next 6 months and come back January. But I don't think he'll go on loan at all
Sherriff if Alex went personally I'd prefer to go for someone like Jones or Smalling instead of Dann or Cahill. I hope he stays one more season and next summer depending on how Kalas has done on loan and how Chalobah/Pappoe progress we might get a new Cb
npe - nobody in the last year of their contract is a snip at 15m. If it is us that are bidding then I don't care what he costs, I'd like to sign him, but there is no justification in the pricetag when teams could get him for nothing.
Yes there is a difference in prize money, but it is a fraction of the 8-10m I said plus saving 1 year salary.
I agree that he is a very good player, but like BK said, much more comparable to the Nzogbia situation, He was worth more to Wigan and had 1 year left on his deal.
BK - If he does go on loan then it probably looks as though we would have another striker coming in which i can't see happening.
Good chance for Lukaku to take in January as well. Torres will be first choice in that time, but i think Lukaku might get a few starts as well
BK - who exactly is like Jones or Smalling that we could get? Dann and Cahill would easily slot in to the side.
