Even if Thorgan makes the WC squad which seems to be a real possibility, I doubt he'll play much, if at all.

In the CM position they have Witsel, Naingollen (sp?), Dembele and Fellaini as well as him.

Even though Fellaini's been a major flop so far, he's an established national team figure and you'd expect him to still play due to past form.

CSTP - He's been playing RW for Zulte as well this season so there's a decent chance he might get in.

Oh, always thought he was a central player primarily.

I know he has very good stats this season so if he's performing there then even better, although if he is to play for Chelsea then he's got a much worse chance as a winger.

For Belgium in the winger/AM positions there's Hazard/Mertens/Mirallas/KDB. Bit stick after that but I guess again he should be able to make the squad if he performs well but unlikely to start.

Do they play with 3 CMs or 2, with Hazard as the #10?

He'll probably not start any matches but may get some sub time, needs to have another good season next season before he'll be seriously considered (KDB likewise depending on where he ends up).

Piazon may get a shot with us next season if he finished this season strongly as he's doing.

CSTP - They played with 4 mids in some of their matches (4-1-4-1) But that probably turned into a 4-3-3 throughout the match.

Do you think we'll even have a 6th choice AM/winger next season? Starting to think it's not necessary to have one, and that 5 is the right amount of options.

In that case, no room for KDB or Piazon or anyone else really. We could keep someone on low wages but they'll hardly ever play as we've seen from Marin and KDB.

We sometimes only play 2 of them when it's a 433 anyway.

CSTP - Pretty much depends on what happens in the summer imo.

As far as we know now at least, Chalobah will be in the squad, and possibly one of Kalas/Omeruo. As it stands now if we were to include Piazon then he has a choice of LW/AM/RW, so he may not be THAT limited to chances, but again it depends who comes and goes.

de bruyne is usually 10 for belgium isn't he? What's going on with him will he be off in jan?

It'll be such a shame to see our youngsters sold only become players we badly need.

Andy - He'll definitely be away imo. January might not be certain but if not then definitely the summer. Probably to Leverkusen/Dortmund atm.

KDB plays on the right for Belgium

Andy, we're doing the usual thing we do to every youngster. Buy them, not given a chance, sold because he wasn't able to impress on the bench. Then enter into a bidding war with other clubs after he's flourishing.

Steve my point is KDB covers as many positions as Piazon does yet he's had what, 5 appearances this season?

No reason to believe that Piazon will get any more of a look in than him, since Kevin is the better player.

Similar story with Marin. We have 5 players who are much much better than Piazon already in the squad, so chances will be few and far between and he'd be better off playing regularly at a better club.

I think we could get by with only 5 players anyway. I would say that's enough players for 3 positions, sometimes even 2 in the event of a 433.
