Boas wouldn't exactly say it's a usual thing
I agree that we don't handle youngsters well but Matic is the only example for your point.
Mourinho will be looking long term at Chelsea (hopefully) and although he will sign more established players over the seasons, he'll have to promote some of the youth players. Like I said, hopefully he stays with what he said that Chalobah will be in the squad next season, and it will be hard to ignore the form of the likes of Piazon/Thorgan etc if they keep going the way they are.
We obviously won't be bidding for Sturridge but he's someone else
And will probably happen with Bertrand and KDB
CSTP - Looking at that though, in those 5 appearances, has he done anything for Mourinho to give him another 5? If the likes of Piazon/Thorgan etc got 5 appearances to do something and to keep it going then that's more chance than they would have previously.
Obviously you can argue a player needs a run of games to get some momentum going, but Mou has always said it's how they perform in training and what they do with their chances that determine if they get more.
Andy - I'd like to think he'll be with us next season. Lukaku seems to think he will anyway so we'll just have to go with that until it changes.
CSTP, in the sense that, they become players providing what we need at the time, for other clubs because they were given a chance there.
Sturridge is another example. We could do with a couple of his goals till when the 3 men we have decide to actually learn to kick a ball
Ba and Eto'o are gone in the summer, so Lukaku will most definitely be in the squad next season.

Steve I know what you mean but I just see it much less likely for Piazon to impress when a far superior player hasn't had success. Surely a loan to a top division side in a better league than Eredivisie would be better for his career? Do you honestly think he'd start AHEAD of Hazard/Mata/Schürrle/Willian/Oscar?
One thing I will say though is that there is a possibility of Mata being sold.
And in that case, then there certainly is room for Piazon if he impressed.
Marin isn't a youngster He has a beard and all
Sideshow but I would still say Marin is better than Piazon. And that was when we had the likes of Moses and Benayoun in the squad, who are obviously significantly worse than Willian and Schürrle.
The problem or concern rather I have with Lukaku is that he won't perform the same with us as he has at West Brom/Anderlecht, and is now at Everton, plays without pressure, where as with us in the games he did have, he looked lost at times, and the chance he had against Liverpool (free header that went straight into the keepers hands) said it all at the time.
Looked good in pre-season for us though at least, I just hope that when it comes down to it competitively for us that he can play without the pressure.
Reckon we'll have 2 young CMs in the squad next season, so that means 2 of Chalobah/MvG/Romeu.
But there's less competition there than in the advanced positions.
I don't think there will be that much pressure on him if we sign a big name first choice striker.
Worst case scenario IMO would be Lukaku becomes a very good impact sub.
Still upset we didn't get Higuain. Would have been very good for us IMO.
CSTP - Is he superior though? Obviously in terms of him playing at international level, yes, no argument, but at club football at least from this seasons point of view? Not so much (and again yes, that is based on playing time of which Piazon has had more).
I've always looked at it as a certain player can play better for a certain team, rather than just be the better player if that makes sense. What KDB hasn't done for us so far, Piazon might. Would he start ahead of Hazard etc? At the minute? Probably not. If he gets the chances and does well, then why not?
We would have said the same about Mata at the start of this season.
Sturridge is a player we should have handled better.
When Bertrand leaves I'll say the same.
As for loanees, KDB last season and Lukaku this season stand out as players who would have played regularly for us.
Chalobah is only to replace Cole's homegrown spot in the squad
I don't think Lukaku would want to stick it out with us being second choice (and knowing that he was second choice), would probably ask to go on loan again imo.
As a second choice he'll get plenty of game time, I'm sure about that. Really don't think that's a good enough excuse for another loan.
In any case I think this loan has to be his last.
