Costa's best performance this season came away at Porto. Hopefully he's just as good today and gets a goal.

His worst performances have been at Stamford Bridge. Balances out.

should say almost.

What's your current thinking Soc?

On season or Bournemouth? Porto?

On where we go from here. Can Jose fix this or nah? Every passing day more and more chelsea fans seem to be giving up on him.

I think we're on the up, but it won't be an overnight switch to the verve and confidence we used to play with. It will continue to be a struggle fraught with turgid displays, Bournemouth mk IIs, and pervasive discontent and unease amongst the support. Our team is too good to be where they lie and stay there or descend further into ignominy. If they're bastyrds and decide to prove me wrong, then what I fear, that our club is rotten to the core, will seem ever more likely. More on that another time.

I don't think Jose can fix this, no. The club have to fix this. Supporters, players, manager, staff, ownership... We need unwavering voice from the stands, dedication in training and on the pitch, humility at the helm, and reality throughout. I did not want Jose back for a second term. I have been of the opinion that, talented as he is, he brings a circus with him that I would rather do without, trophies or no. Regardless, he is here and has done precisely what is expected of him. For that, how could you call for his head? He cannot right the ship, it will take a concerted effort in which he plays a substantial role. He seems to have accepted the reality of our season, but not of his players. We will see.

As for Chelsea fans giving up, that is to be expected given the juxtaposition the last two seasons. Others are exceedingly optimistic in light of what has transpired. To each their own. As views clash, let's not forget that we're in this together.

I need to stop

You seem to be reading more into our bad form then I am.

For me it is simply a very poor run of form which we are struggling to get out of because of a lack of leadership in the dressing room. I personally am desperate for Drogba back in January (I'm sure Jose is too), for me it would be better than signing Messi in the short term.

I look back to the second season under Carlo where we were absolutely in the shhhitttteerr at one point but managed to recover to comfortable 2nd place and a CL Q/F due to Lampard/Drogba/Terry/Cech etc. We need to sign a couple of experienced players in January, for me Drogba and an experienced CM along with going all out for Stones would be an excellent January.

I honestly do not believe our problems run deeper than that. Maybe that's why I'm still quite optimistic, but I don't believe Jose's lost the dressing room or the players are not trying or Roman has given up belief in the manager. We just need a spark atm.

There's stubborn and then there's Jose. Don't think he'll be in charge much longer at this rate. Might not even last the week.
