Frankfurt’s chief financial officer Oliver Frankenbach has today confirmed that the club has been in touch with Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester City, according to German outlet, FAZ.

Following a 16th placed finish in the German top flight last season, the club are looking to bring in a number of fresh faces ahead of next season, as they aim to improve their position.

After their finishing position in the table, the Frankfurt supporters were put through a relegation play-off against Nurnberg, in order to retain their Bundesliga status.

The German side are now exploring the options given to them when it comes to bringing talent into the squad, and the CFO has admitted that contact has been made with both Chelsea and Manchester City, regarding loan deals for a number of players.

The deals asked for by Frankfurt would probably be for some of the academy’s finest, in a similar fashion to the agreement Chelsea hold with Eredivisie side, Vitesse Arnhem.

Sportsmail has been told Chelsea consider Pelle a 'financially sound option' and would be willing to hand him a one-year contract with the option of a further year at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are considering a £12million swoop for Southampton striker Graziano Pelle if they fail to land Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

Southampton are inviting offers on their striker but want £16m for Pelle, who has one year remaining on his contract at the south coast club.

Yes...St George's Park is in Burton upon Trent, hence local reporting that.

Pelle offers variation in play to Costa but at £16m on one-year contract not good value.
Ok squad option If bought for right price.

Southampton wont be able to hold us to ransom because they have to sell this summer or risk losing for free (which they don't want).
Everton certainly wont meet that fee, neither will Juventus.
They'll backdown.
