We'll only sign one new midfielder if we sign any, I highly doubt we'd sign 3 attacking midfielders in one season (Piazon in January as well).

Think you guys have forgotten about Ivanovic. What CB would want to com to Chelsea and be 4th/5th choice? I doubt there's any that is at the quality we are seeking. I'd prefer to see Rajcovic come back and be used if Bruma goes on loan.

Strikes me as strange that 50mil was widely reported as being needed to get Sneijder. Yet we have a 35m accepted with United lurking too? Seems too good to be true.

Also FRANK even if we do sign 1 attacking midfielders it shouldn't affect Essien and Mikel considering they play DM

I don't think United would go as high as 35M to be honest. If they would i think they would rather go with Modric in all honestly.

Goal.com Chief correspondent says the Lukaku deal will not be happening soon...but all parties are confident there will be a deal...

Goal.com........lol.

Steve- I'm not so sure, if they're willing to hit the 17-20m mark for Jones I imagine they'd push 35 for Sneijder. They keep saying that they have plenty of money to spend if they want it.

Alright maybe both will stay, but will Mikel be happy to be second choice behind Essien (most likely to happen)?

------------------ Mikel/Essien ----------------

Sneijder/Ramieres ---- Lampard/Benayoun

Can't see McEachran even getting on the bench, same with Piazon. Both will have to go out on loan to get regular first team action.

Why shouldn't he be? He's been OK being a squad player past 4 seasons and Essien is getting pretty injury prone anyway. Plus considering their respective seasons I would expect Mikel to start over Essien.

preferably someone young to replace Terry
-------

Wasn't this meant to be Luiz? Espiecally as they play on the same side.

We could quite easily have a similar set-up to United. Notice how they dont have to spend 15+ on Cahill and 20m+ on Godin to just have a 4th/5th choice CB, they've used young players (Evans and Smalling) who will be happy being squad players because of their youth and also in Evan's case because he's loyal to the club having given him his chance.

Next season if we only count CB's we could easily have the same number as them without having to IMO unnescarrily buy a new player.
Vidic - Terry
Ferdinand - Alex
Smalling - Luiz
Jones - Rajcovic
Evans - Bruma

OK yes I don't know the details of Rajkovic's work permit and whether he even wants to come back, but he's been in Holland for 3 years now I think which should mean he could hopefully get a work-permit.

I do agree rotation should be used more in our team bt I don't see why a new player should be brought in just for that when we have capable players within our ranks

Blueb - United's money is well documented, but it's also documented that they can't exactly compete with Chelsea etc in terms of bidding power. Should United bid 35, Chelsea could go to 40M, where as United wouldn't.

When's the last time United have been linked with someone like Sneijder/Modric, and they've actually bid big money?

Don't compare our team with United's. We always start our best team and only change the team when players get injured or have totally lost form. Essien, Lampard and Sneijder would be guaranteed starters unless they need rest or are injured. That’s have it works at Chelsea.

Sneijder will show Josh how to play further forward. Can only be good for us

Im sure there are plenty of other prospects that could teach Josh how to play further forward. However, if we can pull him in for 35 million I'd be perfectly fine with it.

Btw, I havent become tired with "soccer".
