Yep Delph also on his way out.

Not sure about Delph leaving in the summer, City are struggling for homegrown players.
Think they'll release him, when his contract comes to an end next year.

Smart move from City. Walker a good player but still an area they can improve on compared with other top sides and he is just getting to that age where you wonder what will happen as his athleticism goes. That type of ruthlessness I admire..but also note they don’t trust Maffeo, I think they’re just as bad if not worse than us for utilising talented youngsters.

Even if our academy players end up no more than squad players that’s a win IMO. Saves us spending relatively big on average players to fill the squad, allows us to concentrate on top players and maintains a Chelsea identify throughout the squad. Even more so with Lampard and Cech looking odds on to be involved.

Lampard probably isn’t ready but then if we give him this year to get settled and integrate the youth it’ll set him up better for the following season

Yeah it's a thought

Midfield the obvious weak point on paper as usual for England. I wonder if it would be worth trialling TAA at CM. I hate the notion that ‘he’s a natural CM’ when he’s playing extremely well at RB but Walker is a strong choice anyway, TAA at CM could fit more quality on the pitch

It’s funny how when we signed Morata everyone was tripping over themselves to claim it was for the full £70m including add ons rather than the initial £58m, whereas now they’re tripping over themselves to say Hazard has only cost the initial £88m and trying to deny the full £130m fee.

In this 4-3-3 he could probably do a role as RCM

England Barkley always different (in a positive way) to Chelsea Barkley.
No shackles. No predictable insipid patterns.

Maybe there is hope for him under Frank.
