Hector limbo.
I've got a feeling that Lamps is eyeing Jorginho for captain when RJ takes over from Azpi in the side. The way he's been talking about his professionalism and driving other players on in training etc.

Yep, played the most football out any in top 5 leagues past 5 years and Frank already prepping RJ to come straight in (hence the constant talking up about how big & important he is) and wouldn't surprise me if he's appointed captain long-term. Leadership are well-known by Jody.

If Azpi is taken out of the side for RJ - who's the captain - Rudiger? Jorginho?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rudi for me...jorg doesn't need to be troubling himself
Leadership qualities were also obvious at Wigan.
Wigan manager would have undoubtedly appointed him captain in his debut senior season, if that move was permanent. Leads by example.
Will teach Azpi a thing or two about playing at fullback and leadership.
Like Mount & Cal, qualities belong at the top.
Elite amongst their respective age groups.
Doubt we make a 19 year old captain although no reason he can't be captain in his early in his early 20's like JT was. If he's up to it of course.
He needs to establish himself in the 1st team first, let alone worry about captaincy.
Rudiger as captain, Jorginho as VC
There doesn't need to be a set time or age to appoint a captain.
As long as they show the qualities to be a fit for captain at a high-level which RJ displays in abundance. Good enough, old enough.
That said I wouldn't be against Jorginho being captain and RJ vice
RJ is the type that thrives under responsibility.
Management know that to be the case as well.
Declan Rice on Chelsea:
They called my dad and told him. I’d thought I was a certainty to get another contract there. When my dad told me, I was distraught. I’d grown up as a Chelsea fan – that’s what I’d known my whole life, so I was thinking ‘What am I going to do next?
Now they’re probably looking back on it – the person who made the decision – and thinking, ‘Maybe we’ve messed up here’. But that doesn’t matter now. My family haven’t been to a Chelsea game in about three years.
Hmm, I somehow don't think club are regretting the decision to release a middling player that has only recently found his best position to play.
Especially with array of quality players coming through on the books.

Barkley on Mount: “The way he arrives in the box and gets shots away early, it is similar to Lamps. He has a really good technique with how he finishes as well. He is a brilliant player.”
Exactly. Watch and learn Barkley
Barkley on Mount:
“He is hungry to improve, hungry to score and hungry to help the team in any way he can, if it is out on the left, in the No10 or in a midfield three,”
That's what you get from players that have been at the club from day dot childhood and live, breath the club.

Kenedy to Getafe - probably about his level.

do you...not so many i fear
let me give you some examples from a non exhaustive long list:
Luiz, Costa, Willian, Morata, Higuain, Baka, Kenedy, Drinkwater,
I think you could have examples from either side.
Kante, pedro, azpilicueta all fine examples currently for me of players who do their all for the team.

yes, but i think its a much shorter list
Well the reason we don't have a longer list of youth players to judge is because we never played any
