Chelsea are interested in CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev.

The Russia international No1 is recovering from serious injury, but hopes to make the European Championships.

Contracted to CSKA until 2014, Akinfeev is being linked with a move to Chelsea as doubts are raised over the form of Petr Cech.



Also reports that we have sent more scouts to watch Lukaku's younger brother Jordan.

Steve Akinfeev is good and I can understand being wary of his contract situation

But we don't really need him. He should be last priority

We have both Cech and his successor already

Why would we be interested in Akinfeev when we have Cech, Courtois and Delac? Doesn't make sense

CSTP - I know. Always rated him. The thing is with Cech as much as i love him and still rate him despite at times his form being up and down, we all seem to think that's it's an impossibly scenario that we might buy another first team goalkeeper and replace Cech. I don't see it happening,but i don't put it anywhere near the realms of impossible.

Delac i don't think will make it at Chelsea, not unless Taylor,Walker,Hilario,Turnbull all leave imo.

As for Courtois it could be another 3 seasons or so before we see him.

Andy Akinfeev isn't better than Cech and Courtois will be better than him.

Delac was touted as the best talent to come out of Croatia, what happened to that?

Cech is no great keeper these days

If we were to buy Akinfeev it would be as a first choice keeper, he's still quite young. No point in that when Cech is only 28 and Courtois will be ready in a copluple of years

I'm not sure if he still has a work permit problem. I think he could only train with the team and not play. He's on loan again i think but i don't think he's made an appearance,which for now would make it 2 loan spells without an appearance.

Only keepers in the league better than him are Hart and Reina at the minute, and he's off form

Agree with Randomer. If we wanted a stop-gap kind of 'keeper to challenge Cech between now and when Courtois/Blackman are ready I'd go for someone like Jaaskelainen or Gordon who are out of contract in summer

Reina???!! Reina is far worse than Cech, Why do people still keep rating Reina as one of the best, he always bottles it!

I would say Hart and Krul are better than him, Reina ain't that good aanymore.

When we first signed Delac I had very high hopes for him

I do t understand why clubs sign young players on loan and never play them, a waste of both clubs' time
