How did VAR work so well in the World Cup but the PL implementation is a complete shambles?

I would restrict the behind the scenes VAR guys to offside calls and simply alerting the ref of matters like the Lo Celso incident so that he can make his own decision using the monitor.

Retrospective bans should be possible even for incidents that the on pitch referee or VAR has “dealt with” so that pr’cks like Lo Celso don’t simply get let off the hook like nothing happened.

How that fker came out of that game with a yellow card from the 80th minute is mind boggling.

Think theres just been more opportunity to go wrong randy and it has had the bigger sample size now to show mistakes

Also higher overall quality of officials using it at the WC

In the women's wc was pretty funny w/ pens

The World Cup had some dodgy moments Npe but nowhere near the farce the PL has turned into on a weekly basis.

As Blarmy says though it’s a smaller sample and the standard of the officials was higher. We need better referees
