The issue Kova-Kante would have as a pivot is both want to do the same thing, but considering Lampard's been playing Kante as a DM recently it's not a stretch for him to play the slightly deeper role. And with 3 CB's/2 WB's it'll give him more conservative passing options from a deeper position which he needs.

It's not the ideal usage of him but it's as good as he'll get outside of the runner in a 442 or 343.

Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic
Mount, Giroud, Pulisic

EL final midfield.

If we assume Auba's going to play LW we'll need James playing RB to match pace, and if James plays RB it lessens the need for Willian to provide natural width (if we intend to play aggressively). And player for player I wouldn't bench either Mount or Pulisic for him.

I will say one thing 343 would do, give us the opportunity to double up with both Azpl & James on Auba.
