Definitely would've been the alpha sheep then, didn't blame Sarri at the time & still don't now. Was the clubs fault not tying down his contract sooner & not foreseeing it (knowing Sarri's way) & loaning him out that summer.

I dunno what he expected from Sarri if he was behind him before that, didn't do his homework. One of very few complaints Napoli fans had, only utilized players who fit his style, between 12-13. CHO was never gunna get picked on principle.

Yeah tough to know the strategy of how to stop a ball going in the net for one club as opposed to stopping the ball from going into the net for another club

After Liverpool mistake I'll be stunned if Kepa plays again tbh. Caballero will play if Mendy doesn't.

I don’t know how Hilario has lasted this long as goalkeeping coach

I don't care about the liverpool mistake, that has happened to virtually every keeper in the past three to four years since football shifted to playing out the back.

the fact he conceded maybe 20 goals like the brighton one every year is what bothers me.

Neither do I as an isolated incident, but once he stops getting the basics right (simple concentration) that's when there's no hope left.

If he does start I'll laugh my @rse off. Will epitomize Frank's complete unpredictability.

Will epitomize the creeping reality of Frank's incompetence.

Im not seeing signs of Frank and Jody being idiosyncratic tactical geniuses

So instead of being weird and unpredictable they should be setting out with the basics until they actually know what to do

One thing I don’t understand is that things seemed very encouraging under their management up until November or so it seems. Since then it’s felt like there hasn’t been a proper plan in place. Not sure what changed. Maybe the injury to Pulisic was a big factor.

Still some games which have been encouraging in terms of how the team has been set up. Like both league games against Spurs, Utd in the cup, second half at the Emirates, Man City.

In fairness we saw this kind of thing in the 08/09, 10/11, 11/12, 12/13, 17/18 and 18/19 seasons. So I guess it should have been expected by now.

Those big game performances last year are kind of why are set up against Liverpool was disappointing

Oh yeah I forgot about the Liverpool games last year. All of them.

Even the 1-2 home loss, I thought we played pretty well in the second half by really putting them under pressure, and had enough chances to equalise. Although if we lost, most fans were at least encouraged.

That kind of sentiment seemed to disappear though, in terms of being the exciting young attacking team full of potential. Can’t play the underdog card anymore

That’s why I said Frank needs a new coach next to him, quiroz took saf to another level

But then someone said to me that frank will sink or swim with his own ability

I'm torn myself. I'd stick to basics more than they are currently, set positions 433 or 4231 with CHO to provide width, but I am intrigued by what they're attempting just because it's so ambitious.

I do think by around the half way point this season we do need to have a settled team no matter what the style is. The constant selection changes will stop a rhythm emerging if they keep it up (at the same rate as last year).

Sarri complaints (at Napoli);
Only used 12-13 players and ignored the rest which caused fatigue and disillusion.
Always set up the same, no surprise factor.
No tactical Plan B.
System set up to dominate and beat lesser teams but ineffective against stronger teams.
Smoked too much.
