I'm torn myself. I'd stick to basics more than they are currently, set positions 433 or 4231 with CHO to provide width, but I am intrigued by what they're attempting just because it's so ambitious.

I do think by around the half way point this season we do need to have a settled team no matter what the style is. The constant selection changes will stop a rhythm emerging if they keep it up (at the same rate as last year).

There's a pretty good argument that Lampard's failure to identify his best team (or even his best group of players) and then stick by them/it has been his biggest failing thus far.

Though it looks like he may have a pretty clear vision for this season. 4-2-3-1, Havertz as the 10, Werner as the striker, Silva/Zouma at CB, James/Chilwell at full back, 2 of Mount/Ziyech/Pulisic wide. I wonder if he sticks with it even if there are teething problems.

Kante not fit all year, injuries to pulisic, James, cho, rlc, rudiger, tomori and others

Possibly Kovacic instead of someone depending on opposition but I'd say it's close to that.

Kova over Mount but basically that with a rotating striker depending on the opposition style.

Not for me. The majority of value to Mount's game happens off the ball, the pressing, manipulating space, cute runs, etc... you don't want him playing in a role where he becomes instrumental in build up with the ball.

Lampard could try it but I doubt he'd stick with it.
