I’d have Mount in team of the season. Main reason for him not being my YPOTY pick is because he seems older than he actually is already established himself a first choice player last season and has shown great maturity.

I know he’s eligible but I usually think of YPOTY as belonging to someone in their proper breakthrough season, establishing themselves as a senior player. Rather than the best player who happens to be under that age bracket. Like I wouldn’t think of him as Chelsea YPOTY for similar reasons even though he’s been the overall best player.

The biggest joke was 24 year old Harry Kane being eligible for the PFA young player award, 2 years after he’d already had his breakthrough season.

Mount deserves it 100%

I wanna go to Porto on holiday. The CL away game would’ve been perfect under normal circumstances to make a proper trip out of it.

This season as well. He's improved massively from last season to this AND within this season alone. He's also seemingly developed an amazing first touch overnight.

CSTP the award isn’t logical though, they might as well call it “arbitrarily young player we’ve decided to give an award to”

At least giving it to Mount would make sense from pretty much every perspective other than it being his breakthrough season.
