Never got a sniff in the euros (yes Shaw was good) and hasn't featured this term whilst Alonso gets the Skipper band last week

I thought Tuchel explained Chilwell’s absence this season already. He played in the CL final, then had a really difficult Summer with England - having to stay match fit without actually playing 1 minute. Then he had a vacation, and came back in a tough mental state. Alonso, meanwhile, had a full pre-season, was fit and ready, and started off playing very well - so he couldn’t be dropped. Tuchel suggested Chilwell is ready to be selected now - let’s judge him after he plays again. My personal opinion is that he’s better than Alonso and will get his place back in the first team. And to compare him to Drinkwater is way off
