Also,on allegations that Poch's training methods caused our injury problems. I really can't say if that was the case or not, however I have trouble placing the injuries to James, Fofana and Lavia at his door. I would also ad that a 36 year old Thiago Silva appeared to cope ok.
---------------------------------------------------------
And no explanation for the previous two years where we still had an obscene amount of injuries, at a time when everyone had bucket loads of them to boot.
I guess Tuchel, Potter & all those other PL managers were just unlucky then?

Poch had us 10th at this point with way easier fixtures and decimated our squad’s fitness but oh no let’s suck his ballbag right off his body a year later while 3rd

And to be clear, I am not pining for Poch. I just have trouble reconciling the arguments being put forward that Maresca is an improvement because of x y and z.
He may well prove to be so, there is no evidence yet to suggest he won't be, but he has been with us a brief time,it's just too early to be drawing firm conclusions on scant evidence and potentially flawed theories

I'm not sure I've known a manager to be criticized so heavily for the 1st half of his job when the 2nd half was decent? We're defying traditional football fan revisionism here
We might as well of sacked him after Wolves (H) in that case as that run of 3 defeats in about 20 games (all comps) means jack sh!t apparently.

I hate it when we sell players to rivals. If he wants to leave he should go abroad. I can understand if he’s frustrated - he’s a very good player. But it’s also true that he was injured for the whole of last season so he owes us and should not be whining.

Proudly stating 3rd is deceptive. If the next match day goes a very unfortunate way, we could drop a low as 9th.

Spurs, who by all accounts are having a horrendous season are just 3 points behind us, have a better GD and are in 10th. I think that says all one needs to know about claiming being 3rd at this stage of the season is a major indicator of growth.

Sorry, I can't abide by the Poch revisionism - he was crap and all you lot were miserable about it for months on end.
I was one of about three users who wanted to keep him and that was only because I thought the owners were to blame for his hire and didn't trust them to hire anyone better, and the players weren't good enough. I recall it being a particularly lonely argument after we bottled the Carabao Cup or when we lost 5-0 to Arsenal.
Then we finally have a winning streak that takes us from *checks notes* lower mid-table to sixth and then suddenly he is great and a must-stay. So, when the owners opt to hire someone else I have nothing but gnashed teeth and wailing from people on here.
And why, because they replaced the guy who was making you all miserable in the first place!
Some of you just like being miserable, and that comes from me, the arch-pessimist.
I have no idea if Maresca will be good enough or not, but honestly, the performances are markedly better already. Club clearly feel pretty vindicated tbh.

Yeah, none of that comment applies to me NPE. Others have tried it before
There was exactly one time last season where I thought maybe a change might be in order, and it was a hypothetical situation that didn't come to pass. After losing to Arsenal 5-0, if we'd have lost to Spurs at home as well that would've made it hard for him to win back fan support. It was a test & quite frankly he & the team sailed through it.
I remember Biggish being quite consistent too but don't quote me on that.
The moaners you're talking about are the people who are happy he's gone, so nothing's out of place here.

It's this last paragraph I simply can't reconcile. I am just not seeing any sort of evidence that we are markedly better that how we finished last season. For me it's more of a consolidation from that period. And, it's only 11 games.
I think this consolidation period probably bodes well and I am not concerned at all atm.
