Not sure what you are watching/remembering Nick as we far a head of this time last season and improving and become more consistent from the end of last season where we were still pretty poor but became more clinical for 20mins in the game

We look like a team, which already is a massive improvement on last season, and we make subs....often early and the team doesn't go to sheite. Players are looking more comfortable as well
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just don’t agree. As mentioned, out played in 7//11 games despite having a full squad. Basically 11 extra players to last year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again not sure what you are watching cos I haven't seen that

And getting knocked out of a cup cos they played their a-b team and we played our b-c and almost got a result

ah Nicky you are an animal also mate! Ah to be a spuddling

It’s not my opinion alone, there’s facts to back it up . We’ve had a lower xG in 7/11 games this year. It’s not the be all and end all but enough to suggest we haven’t been pulling up trees. The second half of last season was much better than this year, but let’s see how we progress.

Like NPE said still plenty of room for improvement, and unlike last season there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel, unlike last where it was a continue spiral down into madness. By no means the finished article

Clearly if Conor Gallagher was here we'd be top of the table.

I don't think we were outplayed by Arsenal or Liverpool, we held our own.

The XG in today's game was marginal, they definitely didn't outplay us like they did at the Emirates last season.

We got battered by Bournemouth but that seems like a good result given what they've done to City and Arsenal since.

Yep, honestly in most cases stats are useless when it comes to telling the story of the game

Which it does in this case. We’ve not been good this year. But as mentioned hopefully we improve. Can’t blame injuries this year.

We are so much better with a full fit squad...we are now swapping like for like mainly

posted 2 days, 11 hours ago

I think the contrast in injuries probably reflects poorly on Pochettino's training methods tbh.

Agree to disagree, we've been solid to good in almost all our games this season. Just cos we have a couple of people poopooing an ok performance calling it bad, or worse than last season is somewhat delusional, it's clear we are improving on last season, and a CB, a GK and a few more lessons on how to defend and we'll be there or there abouts. Feel Enzo is already better off than Klopp/Arteta at similar points of their take over with similar squads

Potter had to deal with lots of injuries too
As did Tuchel in his final year in charge

False position apparently and we've been outplayed by most of the opposition we played so far lol

Poch had us 10th at this point with way easier fixtures and decimated our squad’s fitness but oh no let’s suck his ballbag right off his body a year later while 3rd

Not a fair comparison Matesco inherited a team that finished well last season. Also has not had the same issue with injuries, you seem to have e forgotten our bench for last season.

Poch having a six game hotstreak at the end doesn't vindicate 8 months of slop.

And I say that as someone who spent much of last season defending him and am now baffled at the insanely easy ride he gets from some users on here.

Seems other teams performing badly can be used for the benefit of Pooch

posted 2 days, 10 hours ago

And if I am being honest - the performances weren't that much better, usually a decent 20mins needing some magic from Palmer in which we played well and then were able to survive against teams who seasons had finished in March

I am not advocating Poch, I am pointing out flawed comparisons. And I could be wrong, but I think we has the third best points total from January.

I would expect us to be better this season than last just as I would expect us to be better next season.

As yet I don't see that much difference other than we have a stronger and deeper squad. That's understandable as we are only 11 games in.

I honestly have no idea what some of you allegedly watched last season and what you are watching now.....cos seriously it's night and day <shruggingshouldersemoji>

That win agat Bournemouth is for me our proudest and best win so far. Loved how we held out and then picked them of when they were done.

Also,on allegations that Poch's training methods caused our injury problems. I really can't say if that was the case or not, however I have trouble placing the injuries to James, Fofana and Lavia at his door. I would also ad that a 36 year old Thiago Silva appeared to cope ok.
