Rajkovic isnt all that highly rated, Ive watched him over the last 3 years, he was ok at best for PSV, good for Twente and wasnt great for vitesse last year at all.

he hasn;t lived up to the hype and is just an average player who could maybe do a job for a lower mid table prem team. he is definately not good enough for us.

also Sakho and Rajkovic are not similar. Sakho is 10 times the player Rajkovic is

I know we don’t need 8 home grown players, but if we have 8 home grown players it would be better for the team. If we get injuries, suspensions or want to rotate our squad it will be a huge advantage.

Last season we needed more players when we got a few injuries and if would have been great if we had signed a few more home grown players. Plus the next 2 seasons we will be losing 4 players for a month to the ACON, it would be good to have a few back up players.

Look at Manchester united who have a lot of home grown players. Every match they are making changes to there team. In FA Cup, UEFA CL and CC they put out a completely different XI and still get the job done. It would be great if we could do that.

Fair enough. I like the idea of only playing Alex when needed. At 21 I'm sure Sakho won't mind being a sub or being rotated at CB.

With Rajkovic, I guess I see your point. However, it seems like one in 5 is quite generous to say the least about our youth system. I see where you're coming from though. For example the worst possibility with Sturridge will be if we sell him (for a profit).
Hopefully with the likes of Rajkovic then if they're not good enough we should try and spot this early and sell the player for around what we bought him for, maybe a bit more as they still would have developed.
It's just a reason why I'm not that keen on Piazon. We're heavily linked with Pastore, who is just 21, so would be 1st choice for a good 8 or so years. I can't think of a system that accommodates 2 AMs, so the £12M youngster is probably never gonna make it if Pastore comes.

I meant similar as in the type of CB, they're both tall, strong and not as slow as you'd first think. I don't watch Erividsie but whenever I've seen people talk about him they say good things and he's been a first team regular for each team he's gone two, and these teams are the best in Holland as well

Vitesse are definately not one of the best in Holland. Like I said, from watching him he is basically average at best. if he didnt already belong to us you would never be thinking of him as a potential signing.

he burst on to the scene very young but has faded badly. he would rot in the reserves and would take up a non homegrown place to be in the first squad. never gonna happen

CSTP - Piazon isnt coming in to instantly be a first team starter. he hasnt even started for his current club!

If for example we sign Pastore for example he will be 26 by the time I;d expect Piazon to be a first team starter. Also you need competition for places. young players have to earn their way into the team.

you can't say 'we have an established star in this position therefore we can;t have a talented youngster in the same position' If Piazon is good enough he will make the break through, just like any other young talent we may sign.

You also assume that Pastore (or any other AM signed) would still be here in 4-5 years time and would be in amazing form for the whole 4-5 years. this is extremely unlikely.

Been told that we are willing to go as high as 42M for Carlos Tevez, City want about 50M.

I didnt mean to say 'for example' twice there

I'd personally rather not have Tevez. another 50m for another 27 year old striker. Tevez would no doubt be 100 times better than Torres but I;d rather we had signed him Instead of Torres and not as well as Torres.

Also, how long until Tevez was complaining about being 'homesick' in other words 'greedy'

I see what you mean KDL but I'd expect a decent number of appearances from him. I get where you're coming from. At the same time, when Piazon's 21 he won't be that happy to sit on the bench if he shows he's a good talent. A number of rival teams could show interest and be willing to offer more chances. Definitely wouldn't be upset if Pastore arrives though id still prefer Modrid for 25-30m or Schneijder for 30-35. Neither seem likely, so Pastore appears to be the one. Do you think with Piazon we could put him in a wider attacking position on the left? A bit like what Brazil did when they had Pele and Rivelinho.

Bryan Ruiz wouldn't be a bad signing If we fail to Sign Aguero or Neymar.

cstp - Yes when Piazon is 21 he will want to be playing first team football. and all going to plan he will be playing first team football. this doesnt mean that we don;t need a new AM right now because we do. and it means that in a few years we should have 2 top players fighting for a position.

on the players mentioned I;d take Pastore before Sneijder every time. I;d take modric if we were staying 4-3-3 but if we go 4-2-3-1 which seems the case going by what steve has said then Modric doesn't play that advanced role. Pastore is the youngest and I;d also say most talented of that trio.

Piazon. from the 4/5 full matches Ive seen of him i'd see him very much central as an AM or even a support striker almost in a Kaka type role.

Twente have denied those claims.

That would be a very bad deal for twente If they sell him for that cheap.

It's strange no club from the prem is going for him though.

Clubs always deny claims. I wouldnt be surprised if it's true. I like what Ive seen of him but I wouldn;t call him a viable alternative to Aguero or Neymar really. he is older than both and not as good as either
