TT doesn't want a cupset, that's a very strong team
Steve gets rumours that even ChelsTransfer doesnt touch
I think Kovacic and Pulisic are the unnecessary starters. They’ll be playing a lot in the coming games, or have played a lot recently. So felt odd to play them some more and risk fatigue/injuries when we’ll actually need them soon, at their best.
Eddie Howe not doing enough to restore his reputation
I want Kova to be played into the world class player i know he can be
no rest for him
Clearly TT wants to have the game won in an hour - then bring on the kids, he has five subs available.
I won't criticise a manager for taking tournaments seriously.

Equally, I wont take Tuchel seriously when he says he's worried about injuries because our players are playing too many games. Goes both ways.
Reckon Eddie Howe should avoid the Saudi embassy for a bit..

Why would being worried about injuries mean you'd risk leaving a cup competition by playing a D team?
Forward players need some confidence and shooting practice so it's a good game for some of them.
I can see why he's gone fairly strong, would have been nice to have started some of the youngsters but I guess they can come on later

There's a dfference between playing a D-team and putting 3 or so academy players in the 1st XI.
Playing Vale instead of Pulisic or Baker instead of Kovacic would hardly make the team we put out a "D-team". Such a cop out to suggest as much

They're fourth choice at best - ergo D team - get them on after the game is won.

Both decisions significantly increase the chance of an upset and also turn two very raw youngsters into lightning rods for criticism.
This is the FA Cup, not Carabao Cup, it still means something even in early rounds.
Happy to put them on when game is won.
D team suggests entire team .
And we can easily carry 2 or 3 players who aren't first teamers against a non-league side. It's actually laughable that you'd think we couldn't . Especially considering that our academy regularly plays against (and beats) better sides in the Football League Trophy
We are carrying 2 or 3 players who aren't first teamers - what do you think Hall and Bettinelli are.
There is a balance, and to me TT has got it right - playing some key players, some second stringers and a few D options.
So, I am literally in favour of the idea you are proposing, and simultaneously calling laughable.
What I am not in favour of is going too far and risking potential issues in the third round - which will expend more energy, put more players at risk by having to chase a result, and could lead to embarrassing outcomes.
Forgive me - but I happen to remember being schooled by Bradford, Burnley and Barnsley.
It's a case of priorities.
You're worried about an cup upset at home against a team 100+ places below us because we play 3/11 non-first teamers.
Whereas I'm more concerned about not burning out our first teamers and giving our youth players opportunities to impress. Don't forget that skipping out on giving our youth chances like these will play a role in whether we can convince them to sign a senior contract and accept the loan roulette as opposed to jumping off at the earliest opportunity (e.g. Livramento, Lewis Bate, Lamptey)
Yeah I agree. We’re still playing Lukaku and Werner so it’s not like he’s thrown in the towel.
But Pulisic and Kovacic are the only two who I’m worried about.
