You see havert goal v Barca? Shinned it in from a yard out lol
Mauricio Pochettino warns of a “mess” if his squad is not cut down, at the same time calls to add players in certain positions. (@TomRoddy_)
Cmon, help him get the players he wants in ASAP.
We've done fine with trimming the squad, just a few more deadwood remain - Lukaku, Ziyech, hopefully Cucurella too. Some loans for the younger lot too
I’m genuinely surprised there aren’t more takers for Ziyech. He had a great World Cup and proved that he can perform at a pretty high standard, even if infrequently for Chelsea. He would be available for a low fee too, although his wages may be an issue for some clubs I suppose. But if he wants to play this year he’d surely take a wage cut. I thought he would be highly sought after in Europe, even if his move to Saudi Arabia fell through.
Lukaku too. Sure, he is a massive fat lump and would eat all the food in your canteen, but he would definitely score goals for a mid/high level European team. Available for £35-40M? That’s a steal for a proven goal scorer.
Cucurella - reading Poch’s comments from yesterday it sounds like he’s happy with Chilwell and Cucurella as our two left backs, and he wants the club to get rid of the excess numbers we have in the squad (which presumably means Hall and Maatsen sadly). Personally I’d much rather keep Maatsen and sell Cucurella even at a huge loss - but I don’t think that’s going to happen. He hasn’t given any game time at left back to anyone other than Chilwell or Cucurella so far - I think that suggests who he wants to keep. I’d like to think there’s room in the squad for Maatsen as cover in midfield or left wing - but Poch specifically said he wants to trim squad numbers so I don’t know if that will happen.
If we sell Maatsen to keep Cucu then the club haven’t really learned from past mistakes.
Hall is the one I’m curious about next season. I think he’d be good enough for a PL loan but not sure any club would trust him. Championship loan could be a safer bet.
Ziyech can't even a pass a medical right now and he probably is on ridiculous wages. Going back to Ajax or Saudi would suit him.
I think Juve are happy to take Lukaku from us but they need to sell in order to fund a move for him. He wants to stay in Europe but again he's probably on a ridiculous wages too.
Cucurella has been rubbish in pre season as well, surely Poch can see he's pretty awful. I hope Chilly stays fit all season, the less we see of Cucurella the better. I hope Maatsen stays, he's a decent option at both LB and further up the pitch.

Yeah he needs regular time so championship makes sense to start of with.
Fulham remain the frontrunners to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi, but they have yet to meet #Chelsea's asking price of around £8M.
[via @ed_aarons]
8m is a bargain for someone with CHOs immense talent. Our best academy product for only 8m.
CMF will be hanging his head in shame.
Havertz scored a tap-in in a friendly. That must mean his move to Arsenal will be a big success surely.

If we’re getting nothing for him, honestly I’d rather keep him for a year as a backup winger.
Do we even have enough attackers in the squad without him and Lukaku, if we don’t buy anyone new

As long as it means Arsenal keep starting him I will take it - was invisible Vs United. It's quite funny as he always seems to play with people who look like him. For us it was him and Mount, for Arsenal it's Martinelli
Chelsea in the last 3 days had contact with Kudus to ask the conditions of the deal and have also asked on Ajax side. Arsenal called 2 weeks ago. Brighton dream of Kudus but it is dependent, if they sell a top player. Caicedo remains a deal on with Chelsea. (via @FabrizioRomano)

I think one of the issues is his wages. There’s no point keeping him on huge wages as a backup winger. And he’s not a kid anymore, he probably needs to be somewhere where he gets plenty of game time. He really screwed himself with his poor loan last season - not sure who will want him now. Can’t even give him away for £8M - what an incredible fall from grace. He was in the England squad at one point.
He should’ve played for Ghana at the World Cup. He won’t be playing for England at a World Cup.
Maybe he doesn’t feel that close to his ethnic background though.
Fulham just lost Willian so he’d be a good replacement for them at that price.

Seriouslously just walk away - hes good, but not that good, and I feel there are others available who can do 90% if not more of what he can do for half or 2/3 of that money
We can buy 2 midfielders who are probably just as good for the same price as Caicedo lol.
Amravati and Lavia would probably cost us the same amount as Caicedo.
Amrabat* stupid auto correct lol
