People saying how great this England squad is but wow are we short at LB. Shaw won't last the whole tournament and when that happens we're going to have to play a RB at LB. Surely there's another good English LB out there. And not talking about Chilwell as he's another sicknote.

We lack a top GK, LB, and a deep metronome midfielder in the role of Jorginho, Xavi or Modric which normally is needed to win in international football.

It's a very good squad but this constant suggestion it should walk the Euros is not one I share.

Oh sorry I agree that England lack one lol

Pickford has generally done well for England but I do think he should have prevented the Tchouameni goal at the World Cup, which ultimately proved to be the difference maker.

Yes I agree with most of that and I'd add Pirlo to that list. Our midfield is good but not spectacular. We had a way better midfield than this in the mid 00's for example.

I'm less concerned about GK though tbh. The three goalies we've taken are all good. LB is a huge oversight though. Shaw could get injured in the first game in which case we're playing the whole tourno with a makeshift LB. A massive disadvantage.

My opinion of this England squad is overall good with some great attacking options but with a potentially worrying hole at LB. I don't get some of the talk about best ever squad etc. Is it heck.

I think Reece James is a huge miss personally.
Would have aided with the LB issue. Could have also meant we didnt need to play 2 holding mids.

By aiding with the LB issue I mean we could have played 3 at the back, with stones stepping in to help Rice, but we could overload the right side so as not to rely on what will likely be a right footed left back in trippier.

I guess we could do the above with Trent but Trent other than long passing is just not it imo. Awful defensively.

From what I've been reading and what my brother said (fulham fan) he's not the quickest but not a slouch either, very very good in the air especially with set pieces, reads the game quite well and is a decent passer.
