I think gallaghers a good player and not bang average. Since then you've gone off about caicedo for some reason. And I have an opinion that's widely shared.

yet i'm the one speaking nonsense?

Be nice if you could have an adult conversation on a subject. Can't even answer a question.

The narrative of bang average footballer just doesn’t hold true.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s not a narrative it’s just obvious
----------------------------------------------------------------------
poor take

Yes what an adult conversation

Guess I’m not allowed to respond in kind

Practice what you preach "its just obvious" when the guy was our top 2 players last season. It's silly at best.

Who had the better season, gallagher or caicedo?

Practise what you preach the hypocrisy

Caicedo did, by miles. Hence he’s still here and now looks like one of the best midfielders in the league under an actual coach and Gallagher’s gone to Spain to continue chasing the ball like a dog

have a good day randy.

Caicedo by miles

Another excellent argument and a truly adult response from Nick

I won't talk to someone flat out lying. There's no point.
If we were discussing the merits of whos a better player, who will have a better career etc then fair enough.

But I can't converse with someone just lying.

Superb's boy Gyokeres absolutely killing it.

Thank god Arsenal didn't get him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well yeah, I haven't been waxing lyrical about the guy for ages just for the sake of it. He's brilliant and we're mugs if we don't sign him. Can't believe Arsenal didn't (not yet anyway). I'm just glad Osimhen fell through as it gives me a glimmer of hope we still can get Gyokeres.

And again no disrespect to Nicolas Jackson as I love the guy but I'm sure there's a world we can have Gyokeres and Jackson as our two strikers in the squad, especially given Jackson's ability to play wide as well.

Gyokeres does look like a monster tbf. Do you think he can translate it to the PL Superb?

Always like when a player has a unique celebration too

posted on 23/9/24

Big issue witg signing a striker is it blocks Jackson's progress. So really depends in a way on how we are feeling about Jackson.

If we think he will be a world class striker in 12 months time I wouldn't buy anyone, if we think his fate is to be a pacy but frustrating striker with unreliable finishing then he's a squad player and we should sign Gyokeres or similar.

I am prepared to basically give Jackson this season to make a decision for us either way

1 million percent. There isn't any doubt in my mind whatsoever. And he's inevitably coming to the PL so we'll find out. Just hope it's with us and not Arsenal or even worse Utd as he'll solve so many of their problems in one go.

United surely won’t go for him after spending £72m on Hojlund to basically be a back up? Can definitely see Arsenal being in for him though but Sam Allarteta has an extreme fetish for signing GKs and defenders

I don't think that having Hojlund is any guarantee that they don't go after Gyokeres. It's not as if Hojlund has cemented his place there. They'd probably just sell Hojlund, even for a loss. Someone will buy him.

Or they just keep Hojlund and have two strikers in the squad. Just like we could have two top strikers in the squad with Gyokeres and Jackson.

I mean we were very close to signing Osimhen a couple of weeks ago so presumably that was our plan anyway.

posted on 23/9/24

I think two top strikers is fine if both have reached their potential it's about rotation.

I think with players who are improving every week like Jackson and need lots of games I think they need to be playing as much as possible.

Drogba and Anelka worked because both were about 30. Otherwise we've pretty much always had a clear top choice and backups

Yeah I think they would be better with Zirkzee as a counterpart to Gyokeres as Zirkzee’s more complete than Hojlund despite not being much of a goalscorer. Plus he’s an INEOS guy

I still just can’t see them shipping Hojlund that quick though even if they decide they don’t rate him. They tend to hold on to flops way longer than they should although maybe INEOS stop that

That's all well and good but we're then assuming that nobody snaps up Gyokeres in the Jan window. I think he's almost certainly going to be playing in the PL by next season, only question is if he's going to be sold in the Jan window or next summer. Presumably it's next summer but there are no guarantees of course.
