Yep, low blocks with 11 behind the ball need to become our bread and butter.
Still, I think we're improving.

Another awful refereeing perfomance today too
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep - VAR really needs to be used to stop cheating and time wasting, with points deductions after multiple charges. I have no issue with teams being difficult, what forest done was blatant cheating
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am increasingly in favour of a stopped clock like rugby.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
100% dude
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would kill time wasting dead. There should have been at least 20 minutes of extra time today but Forest today knew that would never be given. As we all did.
Feels like there was only about 30 minutes of actual football played in that second half. Extremely frustrating, especially for fans at the ground that pay good money to watch actual football.

Just did some quick maths. Yeah our home record since the start of the 21/22 season is horrendous

I didn't like today. We had enough chances to win so wasn't that — it was just all the stupid errors really wound me up playing into Forest's hands.
Refs are routinely poor at clamping down on time wasting so the amount of times we gave ball away in last 15 mins or fouled them was just maddening. Caicedo and Neto in particular were culprits.
posted 1 week, 5 days ago
I also hope this match also shows people the difference between Madueke and Neto. Madueke is probably the most effective dribbler I've seen in a while for us - constantly beats his man, often from a stop start and minimal space. Neto is a lot untidier with the ball and is generally most effective when given more space and is able to run onto the ball.
If (big IF) Madueke sorts out his decision-making - I honestly don't see him being easily challenged for that RW spot (based on our current roster).

Last 20 mins were really infuriating. So many slack passes and needless fouls. In these types of situations, you absolutely cannot give away the ball like that and allow the opposition a breather (and opportunity to waste time)

Neto has a much better cross on him which is useful…when you have players that can hit the target

We also don't really have any attackers that are good in the air - so most crosses (regardless of how good) are just wasted

Palmer created 6 chances against Nottingham Forest, only creating more in the Premier League on one previous occasion - 8 v Manchester United in April 2024. This is the fifth time that Palmer has created 5+ chances in a Premier League match.
Not bad for someone non existent

Thing is we can't rely on him to produce the goods week in week out, others have got to step up.
Spent a lot of money on these forwards/attacking players, Nkunku and Felix in particular had to score today.

Fair enough, I must have missed all that. I honestly can only think of one the pass through which Madueke scored and that was Madueke mostly.

We've just become overly reliant on him, if he's not scoring or assisting, doesn't seem like anyone else will do anything.
We don't score from set pieces anymore, sometimes games like this need a goal from a corner/free kick if we're struggling in open play.

That Jackson sequence of play really was something.
Should have got to the long ball first.
Then done well to win it.
Then his touch shokld have been towards goal.
But done well to hold of the cb.
Then should have shot and took another poor touch.
Then done well to dummy a shot.
Then should have shot and decided to slow it down and play a poor pass.
Sums him up lol

Teams full of midgets. Even the taller ones are physically limited (Jackson/Fofana/Colwill). Expect us to concede a lot of set play goals.

Really needed to win today though once they’re down to 10 men.
We have a tough run coming up where I can see us getting 0 out of 12. We’re not the most resilient team and can see us buckling especially at anfield
