I have to be honest this is the 4th game I've seen them in and it was by far and away their best game, they were still lucky to get away with a win. How on earth did they not have 2, 3 or even 4 players sent off I'll never know ( Nunez, Macallister, Gravenburch and Gomez were extremely lucky.

Not worried about Palmer, we probably just have high expectations every game but got to remember he's still a kid.

The defence and GK are a massive concern going forward for me, instills zero confidence

My worry is he gets crowded out of the game at no10 too often.

Brighton was a special case game with a suicidal high line — other games he has seemed more muted.

Order of the Phoenix has been by far my least favourite tho. Umbridge is too hateable, even tho that was the point.

I like Lavia and Caicedo pairing and I don't think we lose creativity throught it either. Just so happened that Palmer was crap today.

Exactly. The hype around him since scoring those four goals has been overboard. As in hearing calls that he's the best player in the PL and Ballon d'Or talk etc. He's an excellent player but people need to calm down a bit. He was probably better last season with less hype lol.

Pool did a good job of congesting the space around Palmer, and we weren't good enough to exploit the space left out wide as a result.

I think Marseca put himself in a catch 22 there. It was crying out for at least one of the FB's to stop inverting & help double up on the wings, but we were competing for the centre really well with them sticking in midfield. We resorted to decoy runs trying to open it up for a cut inside - the safer but less effective option.

Easy to say in hindsight but I'd have gambled, cos Liverpool's block was too strong.

Still fecks me off the Sky pu diary Liverpool bias.

Commentary too. That commentator sounded like he was jizzing himself whenever Liverpool scored or nearly scored and sounded like he was having a panic attack whenever we did the same

Cole either runs the show or he's a non speaking extra it seems....this needs addressing

Where Palmer goes, the onus isn't on him to be great every game, it's on everyone else to step up when he's being nullified or just isn't on it. That's got more to do with him being human than his age or any pressure he might feel in the spotlight - which I highly doubt tbh

We're not completely toothless without him. We do have threats but they're more like paper tigers that come to life when he's playing well.

I was really encouraged by today’s performance. It’s always frustrating to lose, don’t get me wrong - but we are so much closer to the top 3 than we have been for the past few years.

People forget he is 22 and this is only his 2nd full season. Teams obviously targeting him more this season. His progression was never going to be linear.

Pessimistic outlook in my opinion, I think we definitely do better than 8th. Think we get much closer to 4th than 8th, if not 4th itself. Especially if we can keep the injury list down which so far this season we have done thankfully.

Dancho was dissapointing today for me.Liverpool left him a lot of space and time today whilst they packed the central space, but he didn't really make the most of it.

Although true, we had next to nothing in the box. The problem when we play Lavia and Moises, they are great at what they do, but are scared of the box. Its an interesting problem of balancing attack and defence.
