Not saying we're the finished article. Think Biggish's thesis is more or less accurate. But think were a little further ahead than he does.

I think beating Villa was a massive step forward. If we beat Spurs then I think we become favourites for a 4th finish

Utd in the bottom half of the table hehe

Maybe one step closer to fixing this leaky defence. Jorgensen was solid today. Looked comfortable under pressure. Still think we are a couple of CBs off tho. A partner for Colwell and a reliable backup
posted 6 hours, 11 minutes ago
Villa have not been as good this season because the champions league is taking a lot out of them. Haven't got the squad to cope with it.
I thought beating them was fairly straightforward

Yes, and a top draw elite striker. But, defensive CB cover is poor

Chelsea's xG tonight was the most Opta has on record (2008-09 onwards) by an away team in a Premier League match (5.29).

The better and more organized we look on offense the less likely it looks like we are going to concede. We are maintaining lots of pressure on teams and maintain possession well.
If we can just get the defense to solidify back there then we will be coasting. That and becoming more efficient in finishing.

I'd go
Sanchez
Gusto Bads Colwill Cucu
Caicedo Lavia
Neto Palmer Sancho
Jackson
Do think Jorgensen may replace Sanchez as no.1 at some point. But Spurs probably quite a tough game, they also press really high, so not the moment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah that’s the team I’d go for. But we can’t play like we did against Villa or Spurs will counter us with ease.
What id do against Spurs is sit back and counter them.

The fact that we were able to rest half of the team and win so comfortably is very reassuring. I guess Southampton are one of the few teams we can easily afford to do that in.

Outside of that Lampard spell, we've steadily been on the up since Potter's Dortmund win. Potter himself just before being sacked was getting faint signs of a response. Poch continued that, and Marseca's continued from him.

I was happy with the Poch appointment, I knew he would improve us, and he did, but he has always been a poor in game manager, and he was with us. I think he had a good chance of getting us to finish 4th this season though.
Maresco is much more pro active and clearly more of a risk taker. Which is really surprising given what Leicester fans were saying about him.
He has more than a Plan A which is great. I just want to see him improve us at the back. We are still very poor in that area.
