They are opportunities until they are misssed at which point they become a failure.
Don't get me wrong I like Robbo and he has done a good job. But there must come a time when Winkleman has to make a decision.
The point you don't grasp is that they were real failures for you and hurt you badly while we were encouraged to go for it again. It shows that you know nothing about Winkleman or MK Dons to think he is even considering getting rid of Robbo, while with your board no one knows what they are thinking and when they will dump Grayson.
So how did a big club like Huddersfield get stuck in League 1?
Well a long time ago a man called Shankly wanted......................................
Robbo is our Shankly and we intend to keep hold of him.
We would have ruled English football if Shankly had stayed at Huddersfield!!
I don't quite think Robbo will manage that if he stays with MK somehow.
We'll never know - he'll be gone in three weeks.
So you say, win or lose he will be here, but we aren't going to lose.
Thats right Furz - you just keep up ramping the pressure up on Robbo - I like it.
What pressure? We aren't the big club who think they are failures.
Thanks for the compliment.
I too think Karl is doing a fine job, but then I don't own the club, finance the operation and pay his wages....He deserves respect, and a long secure contract in my opinion...but, as we all know, football is a mad business.
Since MKD came into existence 8 yrs ago, and since winning Div 2 in 2007/8, you've finished 3rd, 12th, 5th and now are 4th... and although that is steady progress..is it quick enough ?
Expectations must be high, regardless of the size of the club and especially after losing out the them Posh swines last season..
In a way, it's a clash of the 'nearly clubs', just on the edge, but never quite good enough..but I still feel you have the advantage through continuity, while Town have gambled in sacking Clark, and the gamble hasn't worked.
As bananas says, Grayson has no pressure on him, it's not his team after all. Maybe that lack of pressure will tell in the way he sets up the team..and the vibes the players get off him, whereas MKD will certainly be psyched up..
Jacko ~ Its a bit early to say "The Gamble Hasn't Worked" ..
The gamble hasn't worked...1:15pm, better ?
I know what u'r saying..but the 'aim' was going for the auto's....then plan b was to ensure we got through the play-offs, which Deano said LC would 'bottle' again. So point taken, plan b is still in operation, we just failed on plan a.
To be honest I'm pretty chilled about it this time, there was a load of expectation last year, but this time it more relaxed..less hype from the club, no t-shirts or clackers ...
"Robbo on the other hand. How many times has he tried and failed in play -offs?"
Once.
"If he doesn't do it this time - then perhaps he will be replaced as he has taken them as far as he can."
No, he won't.
The MK Dons Chairman is fully aware that the budget has been reduced this year and the manager has actually managed to improve the league position and get into the playoffs again.
The Huddersfield Chairman replaced his manager because he wasn't happy with 3rd place, and the teams position has actually got worse. With strategic planning like that it can't be long before Huddersfield are in the Blue Square League and not have to travel South.
I thought Huddersfield would beat Walsall. Perhaps you ought to try Plan C.
We are saving plan c for you lot! Loads rested. Looks like Sheff U are now play off bound.
You better have Plan D & E, so did we.
It does looks like Sheef U have lost 2nd spot, which can have a big effect on their morale and without Evans they don't look the same force.
hazsa, failed last year, but 2 counts and you're out in this game...and he's not very confident is he ?
Watching Sheff u v Stevenage, I can't see either of us beating either of them to be honest..you might as well give up now, we'll understand and make your apologies for you
Jacko speak for yourself. We were the better team against United while we are owed a good performance against Stevenage.
Since you are keen to quote Robbo. Here's one after the Rochdale game on our OS, "we have been planning for the play-offs coming up and we can't wait for them now."
Let the battle commence (well at least after our game with Walsall, where we should do better than you).
"hazsa, failed last year, but 2 counts and you're out in this game..."
According to...?
anyway, what will be will be...form, league positions and pre match chat counts for nowt..it's 2 games, 2 one-offs if there is such a thing...both teams will play it tight and look to catch the other on a break or set piece situation...neither team is going to go gung ho are they...it's the team that concentrates and keeps it's discipline that will win tho', or maybe an error...a back pass, a foul...a penalty , even.
All I /we hope for is that we give it our best shot, work hard and play to the max of our ability...if we lose after that, then fair enough.
Old trafford was awfull because we sold ourselves well short...which left the 34,000 Town fans feeling somewhat deflated. Am sure of one thing, Grayson will make sure his Town team play to their max this time, it might not be pretty, but the fans will get behind a team that works hard....
Looks like you are suffering from stage fright: cautious, errors, foul, penalties. You sure Gratson has the skill to stop you selling yourselves short again?
