We note from the court reports that Ken Bates' legal team will argue that public figures should have “broad shoulders” and be prepared for criticism, and we find this line of defence particularly ironic given that the Trust board are still blocked from buying tickets at Leeds following our criticism of the way the club is being run.
----------------
Hypocrisy of the highest degree from Bates and Harvey.

"The court heard that separate legal proceedings brought by the club against Levi in Jersey had been stayed, with Leeds ordered to pay costs.
Mr Myerson asked: “Is anybody exercising control or is it that an elderly man is being indulged in his vendettas?
Mr Harvey replied: “We are advised professionally by solicitors in both Jersey and England.”
----------
I knew about the admatch case in jersey re Weston, is this something separate?
The club really needs to draw a line under this.
We are at the point where we are selling players, borrowing money and going into debt to finance legal bills from Bates that do absolutely nothing to help Leeds United's cause.
5 stars from myself by the way.
As much as I'm glad there's an organisation giving Bates food for thought, all I'm picturing is a bunch of anoraks with the daily mail tucked under their shoulder all grumbling and using the word 'disgrace' in every sentence.
Still, it's a shame they're not going to make any difference at all to the running of our club.

Perhaps you should come along and meet us. We come from all walks of life and are made up of what you'd expect LU supporters to be like.
The good, the bad, the educated, the not so educated but we all have one thing in common we want the best for Leeds United and or fellow supporters.
I just can imagine you now with ya barra singing down at the old Bull and Bush, shining up ya buttons on ya pearly suit and saying Cor Blimey mate at the beginning of every sentence .
Nice to see they can both smile by losing Leeds Utd millions in wasted court cases, but then I suppose it is not their money but ours.

Mr Levi’s lawyer, Simon Myerson QC, claimed that Bates’s lawyer, Hiren Mistry, had heard from the club that someone spotted the Levis having dinner in Leeds on December 22 but held back on serving legal papers.
Mr Myerson asked him: “Is it because Mr Bates had told you there would be announcements on Yorkshire Radio every day for two weeks offering dinner for two for information provided?”
Mr Mistry replied: “He did tell me that, yes.”
----------
And the fl see bates as fit and proper to run a football club!
Where's this about what Mr Mistry has said? Each questioned individual seems to have their own article and there's loads popping up.
Cozer, you've got to admit that the majority of pressure groups are made up of people who haven't got much else of equal excitement going on and generally have a chip on their shoulder?!
Obviously we all want the best for the club, and Bates isn't going to give us that, but if I were Bates, I'd be laughing at the amount of people dedicating a portion of their lives to something that I could simply ignore. I think there are better ways to go about it other than protests press releases. Making good of what we've got, working together with the powers that be is the answer - getting Bates fired up for a fight is only making things worse.
*...protests AND press releases, should I say.
Also Cozer, I live close to the old bull & bush! Wasn't knocking people outside of London, you get stroppy, antagonistic Anoraks throughout the country!
it's like banging my head against a wall, this is London.
The protests started because the club wouldn't listen. Countless people have tried to contact the club with regards to addressing their concerns, only to be ignored, time and again.
There's no good to be made of what we've got. The reason we want him out is because it's impossible to work with him.
If your idea of "working together with the powers that be" and "making good of what we've got" involves shutting up and continuing to spend the same amount of money as we would normally on the club, then why bother getting involved? The sit-back-and-do-nothings of this world have nothing to contribute to this world.
I should add, shutting up and continuing to spend our money is the only action that can be regarded as "working with the club", as anything else is met with either dismissal or aggression.
He has to go as soon as possible. Pressure will work, as the club will begin to crash and he'll be forced out.
Anyone got the feeling that this legal case is bates way of moving money out of the club?
I hear his lawyers are vastly incompetent, but come with a high price tag. Anybody think he's getting himself into these legal cases on purpose so he can spend club money on legal fees, which his lawyers then transfer out of the country to the tax haven, where they can share it about all they want no questions asked?

I wish people would say what they really feel about Bates
Oh look no mention of bates in court on Yorkshire Radio.
Marko, I don't think that's the ploy, it's just that he is on such dodgy ground that it costs a lot to try and find some precedents or loopholes he can leverage.
It doesn't help that Taylor is incompetent and that Harvey isn't believable by judges.
ye Jonty, and then he goes into court and calls the prosecution they are "being pathetic" and puts them down for "never having worked in the real world". Insulting the prosecution isn't going to help your case.
Marko, the judge told him to calm down.
The man is an embarrassment to Leeds United and ever since he joined our name has been in the press for all the wrong reasons.
