i was not at that game and i just stated that i would respect man utd's victory if they got it. i just thought your rediculous statment that utd fans are the most gratious there is in defeat quite funny. sorry if that offended you

The only result tomorrow that basically ends it is a United win.

A City win only puts them ahead on GD. And if this season has told us anything it's that you should never count your chickens. United and City have both lost or dropped points when not many were expecting it. Anything could still happen next weekend and the one after.

A draw and it's still in balance with an obvious advantage to United but certainly not over.

I won't be the slightest bit bitter if City win it. We will only have ourselves to blame after basically being handed it a few weeks back.

United would come back stronger like they always do anyway. 12 titles in 20 seasons???? i reckon we would have all settled for that in 91 wouldn't we?

13 would be better though

^ On that point Arab - my dad's a City fan, and I'd love for him to see City win the PL. He saw them win the old trophy back in the 70's so I think it'd be nice for them to get it again, just for him :P

Plus he was very happy when they won the FA Cup, and I want a new laptop...

so we didn't applaud chelsea on to the old trafford pitch in 2005? ronaldo in 2003? we lost two champions league finals and on both occasions every united supporter stayed till the end and applauded barcelona, nor was there a hint of trouble. compare that with liverpool fans in athens after losing to milan. united fans, by and large, are beyond reproach when it comes to accepting defeat.

^ I think the sentiments of the United fans on this board back Ole up...

their deluded grated. next they will be saying that we have 20,000 empty seats for every home game. oh wait...

Ole_1999

I agree we do accept defeat quite well.

I was one of thousands who stood up for Ronaldo's hattrick and also stayed on to applaud Mourninho's Chelsea team who were fully deserving champions that year and also Arsenal when they won it at our place.

However.....I reckon it's a bit easier for United fans to do this due to all the success we have had. Our trophy haul in last 20 years makes any disappointments easier to bare.

When I imagine you ole, I imagine that one from X-men with the big red shades on and if he takes them off he dies.

When you get so used to winning, defeat can be hard to handle.

I mean look at the hand bags your players were throwing about after Mario's wink.

you really think if you lot got relegated you would clap your team of the pitch like the wolves fans did last week? no chance. your stadium will be empty more quicky than the 1-6 fire drill.

“always look on the bright side of life” - our anthem since the dark days was sung non stop for the final ten minutes at newcastle when we were 3-0 down. our crowds in the 70's and 80's also illustrate that we were just as loyal and honourable in times of adversity too.

The winners always deserve it. Extra cudos for this being the 20th with November/December being a whoever's fit plays somewhere time. Likewise, if it all goes tots up and City steal it they'll have done it through money and total mercenaries. Oh wait...

My dad has been a red since the 70's too but he's turned into a spoilt whiney plastic middle aged man. Not got any other football fans in the family but him. Good luck with your quest for a laptop

And there'd be a couple of hundred quickly scampering over to our end to 'have a go' like there was at the FA Cup semi.

Speaking about the 60s and 70s from experience are you? And I wonder how many of those fans have been pushed out for tourists ever since...

Well if you're going to make stupid hypothetical situations like that up, we can say the same for your fans then.

We will be relegated, after the oil dries up and the Sheikh gets bored blah blah blah.

Not going to applaud them but, as is the case for whoever wins the league, they will deserve it as they have been the best side over the course of the 38 game season.

i'm pretty sure we were relegated at old traffford whilst playing the team you claim to support, and took it in rather good spirits all things considered.

The Mansour's have apparently got half a trillion wealth between them, I think when the oil runs out they've got a pretty hefty sum to fall back on for generations don't you?

i'd say about 98% of our fans were supporting the club since before the money came and when relegation was a possibilty. if i know anything about city fans its that we stick with our club no matter what.

posted on 29/4/12

i have 3,007 reasons to suggest otherwise.

Except they wouldn't have that many fans in the first place.

Here's a question to City fans: if you turn your back on your team when they're winning, what do you do when they lose? Spend more money? Sack the manager? Spend more money and sack the manager? Buy Abramovich? He's very against striking, would that bother you?
