"Obviasly he could've had a bad day but it kinda surprised me as I know a lot of us rate him quite highly."

The blah blah is that he don't particularly want to come back to Spurs.

He doesn't want to come back as he doesn't want to sit on the bench

We should give him a chance at left back where I think he'd make it his own

"We should give him a chance at left back where I think he'd make it his own"

The blah blah is that although he can play both, he is better at / wishes to be RB. Unlikely with Walker present.

Unless Spurs go Arry RDBD and develop Walker to be an RM version of Bale.

naughton is a slightly more measured and cautious player than young walker. I like the idea of converting walker to RM in the future and whacking naughton at right back.

I have not seen much of Naughton and would like to know, is he a better back up than Corluka ( assuming Corluka still wants to play for us).

I also remember when we signed Naughton and Walker from Sheff Utd. One Utd fan who knew about the transfer a few days before it was announced said that the transfer stalled because Naughton wanted to go to Everton and had to be persuaded by Sheff Utd management to come to us. Walker wanted to come to Spurs all along.
Ironically the big news about the transfer was all about Naughton and Walker was thrown in after initial talks had begun.

Caulker must be able to see how crocked / old our defense is and should want to comeback and claim his place. Hopefully.

I can see Naughton being less confident of matches.

Caulker must know he'd have a decent shot at first team action with us, Naughton's facing a battle with the young player of the year and a left-back that Harry will not drop unless his leg falls off.

He's looked good for them but he's hardly set the world alight. One out of two ain't bad I s'pose

very good defender, you would be mad to let him go as your current rb can't defend to save his life.

Caulker has said he expects to be challenging for a first team place next season. He can't really do anything until his loan spell ends this month at Swansea.

genius

sorry Naugton's rubbish

I remember some similar quotes from walker last year. Didn't turn out too bad for him! I imagine he will play an important part next season and we will loan out Danny rose instead

Don................

So you were saying Naughton is rubbish, and not Walker?

posted on 3/5/12

No you booked me for saying Naughton was a class defender, so i tried to get on your good books again

Don..............................I think he is a good player! Okay your appeal has been heard, booking rescinded!

I think it's more giving Walker a rest against inferior teams or an early sub and giving Naughton a go

Walker has shown he can take a full season. Full backs don't need resting!
