How about the fact Leeds and Portsmouth weren't in UEFA spots to play in Europe, had they been they would have bans.

Portsmouth played in Europe after they had gone into administration

A quote from an article, which in itself has no quotes from UEFA.

So in fact you have quoted a journo.

+++

You would think the journo in question(Richard Wilson)did his research before making such implications...No?

posted on 7/5/12

And yet absolutely no quotes from UEFA. If his research was so good, why not back it up with actual attributable quotes?

So, he made it up then?

That said, even Rangers look like being banned from Europe for a long time – several seasons. Many players will thus soon leave. They are banned (pending appeal) from buying new players for a season. Penalties for sure, but if they do manage to pull this off, nothing like the penalties many feel should be imposed.

Naw...he's not offering an opinion, he's potraying a definite

If he is 100% sure of predicting the future maybe he should play the Lottery?

It is an opinion piece, a poorly written one at that, full of useless comparisons and pretty extreme language.

"UEFA also has rules stating that a club must be a member of a national association for three years before being allowed entry to European competition.

Rangers will not play in Europe next season after failing to meet financial criteria needed for a UEFA licence."

It's not...and nowhere in his article does it state that.

Can you tell me how a 'newco' will be accepted by Uefa?

posted on 7/5/12

Said it before - no one knows what UEFA will do in this instance, This is not a newly setup club, where the decision would be simple.

So say a 3 year Euro ban is put in place, OldCO gets CVA agreed, and then is merged with NewCo. Club is back under original out of admin company Rangers 1899? What do UEFA do? Remove the 3 year Euro ban?

As I said, completely unprecedented. Normally clubs who go through this have no chance of European football anyway. But in Rangers case, we do, albeit unlikely.

Jeez - if there are no quotes, then of COURSE it is either lies, and actionable, or an opinion piece - ie the opinion of the writer / editor / publication.

Eh, yes it would...Rangers newco will have to apply to the Spl for membership, thus they will be viewed as a new entity by Uefa.

Simple really...the stubbornness and desperation emanating from you Bears is quite blissful

posted on 7/5/12

Wrong - the SPL are deciding whether to allow the transfer of the share from existing Rangers to newco Rangers, even if it is only temporary. Not for Rangers application to SPL.

If you are going to argue, get your facts right.

Hold on, you cannot decide to pick & choose which rambling blogger's post to believe and then say other articles by the same person are rubbish.

They all seem to now accept that we will keep our history in the event of a NewCo and liquidation of the OldCo.

No we don't.

dc1,

Read his article on Stephen Francis Halpin, that's right...Stephen Francis Halpi!

The same 'Stephen Francis Halpin' who worked for Celtic and the same, Stephen Francis Halpin, who attended an RC school

TCD - Leggat is a numptie - right alongside Phil Mcwhathisname and a whole list of other lunatics who post blogs claiming to be fact when they are only personal, ill informed opinion.
