De Jong limited technically?! What tabloid have you been reading?

Any player that can move the ball around as sharply and quickly as he does, even under pressure - in fact, any player who can play as an attacking midfielder for Ajax - is not someone who is technically limited. Having the option to play Yaya deep or to being on De Jong and move Yaya forward is just fine and doesn't need any work.

What we do need, though, is a top-class winger (Johnson just isn't going to cut it) and another reliable striker to share the Aguero's work load (even if Tevez stays, Mario is a loose cannon and Dzeko isn't a god enough finisher).

che_don_john - agreed, but if De Jong does leave in th summer, Milner is a more than adequate central partner for both Barry and Yaya x

i meant that a player like what alonso was for liverpool would be a great assist from the deep.
a winger would also be great as offering our game a new dimension

I actually really like how Yaya is currently being used. Sit back and protect, enable the more attacking players to get forward, and if that doesn't work out, pushing Yaya forward at times when the opposition themselves are perhaps becoming a little tired and thus more susceptible to his powerful runs.

Put it this way, if Yaya was asked to do the job he did late on today right from the start, he'd be absolutely exhausted himself mid way through the second half.

But alas, the proof is in the pudding. If it ain't broke and all that.

Ripleys' right Buhz.......it works because of the timing of it, not because of the strategy.

Its a bit like a General on a battlefield waiting to see if his cavalry on horseback can slice a way through.......and if they don't......he moves the artillery forward.

Che Don....we'll be looking for 3 strikers in the summer cos we will only have Aguero left.

I couldn't disagree more: cavalry don't slice through, they flank their opponents. It is a stratagem made famous by the great poet John Barnes, who asserts that the only way to vanquish ones enemy is to maneuver to their rear.

Although Ripley's spot on about Yaya x

NDJ is one of the best in the world at what he does, I think looking at revamping that position would be a tad frivolous.

We need pace, we need width and we need 4 strikers (don't care who so long as Aguero and Guidetti are two of them).

Perhaps Mancini has an idea of promoting one of two youth players next season, to send a positive message.
