Great read & 100% agreed ! We can do it!
not sure when away tickets are on sale to general public, ie non season ticket holders etc...?
presume home leg is pay on the day,,,?
if you read the advice on the town web site, its as clear as mud !...as usual..
Tickets for both legs are on general sale now. Tickets can be bought online too, very easy to do so:

Got a positive feeling this time...
Last year I knew we were nowhere near as good as posh, but never admitted it...
MKD fans are very disapointed with their form at the moment, and after losing at home to Walsall they are all on a downer....
I went to walsall last week and thought we looked like a premiership team first half...
But second half they were instructed to get physical and we didn't like it up us....
MKD & Sheff Utd won't hurt us that way...But Stevenage might...Let's hope we get behind the lads and give then their extra pair of ba-lls if required...
Cas,
Congratulations - Thats the most positive thread you've posted all season.
Have you been taking some of 38's "we can't fail pills" or have you just started listening to what Boots has to say for a change?
In LC - sorry, I mean in Larry I Trust.
A Good Timely Clarion Call Cas & all I would wish to add is a Note of Caution based on the Absolute Fact that we ain't a 'Form Side' at the moment .. We are however quite uncannily Only Two Matches off us Being Just That~ based on our Manager finally having found our best 11 Plus Good Quality Subs ..
We DO Then Have the Werewithall to Claim that 3rd Promo Spot ..
I've Posted Just that and unlike others I could mention, Unfalteringly So since Graysons arrival ... Lets Keep Focused then .. Keep our Eye firmly on the Ball and not blow anything through displaying Too Much Over Confidence ..
Its a Fine Balance we have to strike .. We Can Do This .. ..

He says we should NOT Select Jordan Rhodes for our next game ..
Jordan Rhodes ~ Not just League Two & League Ones Top Scorer ..
Not Just The Championship and Premierships Top Score .. He's The Entire British Phukkin Isles No 1 .. And that Gumboil 38 reckons we drop him .. ..
The Guys a Total Phukkin Joke .. Minds't you as he Spouts on some thread yesterday .. He believes he can do better than our Manager

Not really a question anymore of "could i do better than grayson"??
More a question of "could i really do any worse than grayson has"????

He's Completely Deluded .. and yet some on here lap it up .. ..
Jordan Rhodes is by no means a guarantee to start in the first leg, in fact it wouldn't surprise me and I wouldn't be too upset if he didn't start at Stadium:MK. First legs tend to be tense affairs and I can't see it being a very open match, meaning a selection similar to the one we saw on Saturday could perhaps work better, despite it lacking the UK's top goalscorer.
As for over-confidence, I'm not trying to convince anyone that we're world beaters because we're obviously not. In fact I did say that we still need to improve in order to be successful in the playoffs, Yeovil were walkovers but none of our remaining fixtures will be so easy. All I'm asking is that people believe in the team and get to all remaining matches to show their support. If we end up playing MK and then Stevenage I firmly believe that our larger support could be the difference.
Well if anyone was gonna 2nd that call it was you Cas as lets face it your hardly Rhodes Biggest fan .. .. However to leave him Sat Benched would be to invite the Wrath of Ever Reasoned Football Mgr and Supporter in the U K .. Believe in HE that has Proven beyond any reasonable doubt he WILL Score Goals ..
We (Manager) didn't quite believe before .. But Surely Never Again ..
If it's in the best interests of the team that he starts on the bench at Stadium:MK then so be it. I don't think he will, and I'll fully support his starting, but I would understand if he doesn't.
Well I'm Glad you "Support His Starting" .. After all we wouldn't want you to get it wrong Two Weeeks in a row .. ..

Nothing hindsight about me at all ~ Let me invite Anyone that thinks so NOW to do their research and Prove It .. ? .. Put Up OR Shut Up ..
I posted the above DAYS before the game (following your assertion that he WOULD Start) and Got it right yet again ..
Thats not hindsight thats called Backing Ones Judgement .. & most of all having the guts to STICK with it ..
There is no way Grayson will go with one up top...We've had that with LC , even at OT when he left JR on the bench, and rightly got crucified for it, Grayson won't fall into the same trap.
MKDons like to pass the ball around, keeping possession and will have us chasing shadows if we don't push up the pitch, and that means at least 2 up top for me. Close them down, make them play it long and attack down the flanks....3-0 Town !
As an aside, the 'massive' 87 points Town got last season, only to finish 3rd, was surpassed by the Blades with their 90 points..imagine how bad that must feel. Even 2 points per game (as per LC's target) wouldn't have been enough this season....and with Town finishing the 'form' table in 15th place, I think most fans are happy when they realise we have another shot at the play-offs after all the turmoil of this season.
This time the spotlight is not on us, no unbeaten run to talk about...just quietly getting on with it...much more my style than all the razzamataz of last year.....
If Grayson can get us to play somewhere near to our potential, then no one can beat us ...providing we get our fair share of luck.
with higgy you are not playing with just one "up top"..
you are playing with a striker and one player who gets everywhere "up top" and anywhere from the half way line forward and backwards..
They either try man marking him, it didnt work for yeovil, or they have two centre halves and a holding midfield player marking nobody and then having to pick players up at very "short notice"... Its worked against us often enough, nice to see it work for us...
I didnt presume to pick the team for grayson for saturday, just stated that he had some options..
4-3-3 is great if you have a central striker who can run, chase and compete for the ball... It also follows that the two other "frontmen" are wider players , this would be roberts/ward, but they also have to be able to cover back...roberts cant/wont...
higgy did all his best stuff in central areas and linking with novak or arfield coming through.. Should he be stuck out on the wide??? if selected in front of roberts?
The first legs are usually very tight affairs, 0-0 with millwall, 1-1 with bournemouth, its just the way they go... There are lots of teams we "should have gone at, been much more positive against etc etc, mk dons isnt one of those teams..
The system with higgy playing is plenty positive enough for the away leg, aligned with having rhodes/lee/novak etc on the bench and its most positive point is that its not one dimensional, its fluid and we have higgy, arfield and jack hunt popping up high up the pitch along with a striker who can link the play, no great big hoofs...
jordans top goal scorer, but he wont make a goal by chasing and worrying. He wont score an individual goal at mk dons and in a tight game with very few chances i dont think he will score(these games have passed him by before)...
If selected I hope to god he proves me badly wrong..
2 players that we have, can and will catch mk dons playing the ball at the back.. we all know who they are..
my worry is a return to 2 strikers miles away from the midfield players.. If rhodes or novak were speed bunnies thats not a massive problem.. but they are not.. arfield and even miller were much more involved further forward for the simple eason that higgy controlled the ball just inside yeovils half, they didnt have to run 40 yards to catch the ball up and they could also play shorter forward balls on..
Giving hunt the ball on the half way line and even further forward than that was the key, we have spent the last few weeks with him getting the ball , static, usually on or near our 18 yard line..Its all about where we start from/break the play up from.. You can certainly be "positive" without loading up the front line, being honest i have seen town play with 2 strikers so many times where we never made a chance and ended up with novak being the "extra" midfielder...
Call me old fashioned '38', but I believe the more strikers you have on the pitch, the better the odds of a goal! Provided they are provided for. Miller and Johnson should be the men to break down the Dons midfield and to provide decent passing too. That's my hope and dream!
If Novak can bagged one and Rhodes to get a brace, then how confident will the fans feel then?
miller and johnson could easily find themselves stuffed up against clark/morrison.. then a huge gap up to two strikers, thereby the "hoof" starts again, with no real hope of miller/johnson being able to make up the ground to support the strikers..
novak has played in "the hole"..he does ok but he does end up too deep..higgy plays it naturally and looks like he belongs there..
like i said, two strikers has often, for town, meant 2 blokes mooching around up front a million miles from anyone else in a blue/white striped shirt..
one player who goes anywhere as and when he pleases changes what the opposition do..two blokes standing holding hands with the centre backs is easier to deal with.. Im not saying novak/rhodes are not a good combination, its worked very well on occasions , im not sure mk dons in an away leg would be one of those occasions..
With higgy back and doing it, we have some options that we havent had before....
At the minute for the first leg I'm thinking...
Bennett
Hunt Clarke Morrison Woods
Higginbotham Arfield Johnson Ward
Rhodes Novak
With Higgy basically playing where he wants cutting in from the right, enabling Hunt to bomb down there when he wants and Arfield to cover down that side. Novak to run the wings constantly to offer an outlet as Afobe used to (he can do this but doesn't do it enough) and bring either Ward or Higgy into play - get them 2 on the ball as much as possible and look to get at them.
38,
On a different topic I see Milan Mandaric states in todays Star that he has put around £20 million of his own money into Sheffield Wednesday in the last year.
My betting is that Town will be no higher than fourth in the spending league behind Sheff Wed, Charlton and Sheff United, so for Town to end up in the play-off's again is no mean feat.
Lets face it, had we been able to buy/loan some of the quality players Wednesday now have with Premiership and or Championship experience, such as Ranger, Antonio, Semedo, Liera, Madine, Treacy, Batth and Bywater etc, we would have likewise been promoted automatically.
The stats on finances were released a while back. I can't remember them all off by heart but we had the highest wage bill in the league, just in front of Sheff Utd, then Wednesday and then Charlton. We've spent more than £1m more on wages this season than Charlton.
That will change massively next season however with the financial fair play system starting. Half of the current squad will be let go including massive wages of players like Naysmith and Joey who's already been released. We'll also have a much smaller squad next season as we won't be able to afford having literally 2 or 3 players for every single position.
mandaric hasnt put anything like that amount of his own money in..
his accountants may say so and the books may say so..thats all..
we have been paying top whack for nigh on 3 years and we still have not been promoted..
we have paid top dollar to players and a manager that unlike wendies didnt win anything(yet)...
I rest my case...we are still waiting..still paying...
Not wanting to get into the how carp was LC thing again, but when you see the stats like that, he massively failed !
Cas...I'd pick pretty much the same team, but I think Miller in place of Ward because Higgy and Ward is a bit extragavant for an away leg. Ward isn't the best runner and defender in the world, and with the nervous Woods behind him, we have a weak link down that flank.
Grayson will play 2 up front, so will want a solid base..if it goes wrong he can have Lee, Roberts and Ward to throw on perhaps. My feeling though is Grayson will try and have the tie won at MKD, early pressure, 2 goals up, then catch them on the break..
Don't know what happened to Arismendi, maybe he's gone back to uruguay..didn't impress me, too much like Gobern, and I'm not impressed with him yet although he's moved from a great Saints team to our pretty mediocre Town team...
Just watching West Ham marmalise cardiff...no sitting back there....
