Yes

Being in the top 4 is important financially that is without doubt.

But I'd much rather be in our position than yours. We have a trophy under our belts and CL qualification is in our hands as it is Arsenal's.

As Wislhere said, Chelsea and Arsenal coming 4th is seen as failure, the bar is much higher.

The aim for us is to win every competition we enter, we haven't done that.

Winning the CL would make up for our poor performance in the league but we will have failed.

I can't see the point of being in a competition just to make up the numbers.

if this is the biggest use of clutching at straws that i have ever seen then please someone tell me different ....Bubbles, we beat newcastle because we tore them to shreads and they couldn't live with our pace. We smashed them to pieces and did it all in 1 half, it was an outstanding performance. You're game against Newcastle where Luiz should of been sent off was lucky, that was a game changing decision
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
but we dominated them 3-0 11v11 didn't we? you can't use the sending off as an excuse when we still played an 87 minute game with equal teams and beat them

I think an ex player is in a better position to judge than bitter, blinkered Spurs fans.

John Terry is no angel, but he isn't the devil as the press would make out.

The Newcastle team that started against Spurs was missing our 2 best centre midfielders. It was a mix between them being good and us being terrible with Perch and Guthrie.

The 3-0 we lost both cbs at 1-0.

Did you know Ba was offside in the build up to that Luiz challenge, ofcourse you don't because that doesn't fit in with the anti Chelsea way of going things.

So infact we lost David Luiz for the City game because the linesman failed to see an offside call.

why does every article end up in a slanging match between arsenal, chelsea and spurs?

As Wislhere said, Chelsea and Arsenal coming 4th is seen as failure, the bar is much higher.

Agreed, but in your case that's mainly due to the expectations of your owner, and the huge transfer fees/wages he'll throw at it.

I can't see the point of being in a competition just to make up the numbers.

When I started supporting Chelsea even the likes of QPR, West Ham and Spurs were better than us. Hadn't won the league in 40 odd years and no trophy in about 25 plus I support my local team, the last thing I could be called is a gloryhunter
