Hi Tenez! thanks for your warm welcome. France, from Paris, unfortunately, nothing exotic there. I lived in England, in London, for 5 years but I have been in the US for longer now. That match was so close, I almost got scared! almost is the key word as when I bet on Fed to win it a couple of weeks before the event, I even sent emails to my friends writing "Fed won Madrid 1012" and when they said why I wrote it in past tense, I said because I wanted my email to be valid in the future (forever) , which it is!
tenez do you think feds will play rome? i think he should but he may want more rest.
--------------------------
I think NITB is right. Those rallies were not too gruelling. I however don;t think he'll break a leg for Rome, but certainly will want to have a few matches on clay, which he clearly lacks. Proper clay that is.
there was an article saying feds will wait right to the end before deciding on whether to play in rome or not.
rest ahead of RG
======================
Really?
Tenez, I see your hot tip for the future, Raonic, has just been dumped out at the first hurdle in Rome by a nobody ,
By all accounts he is a bit of a choker
Feds will play when he is ready. He knows the score and how to prepare for these up and coming Slams

Impressive! What made you believe he was going to win it?
Where in the states?
I read a lot on the clay used and I knew his adaptability (plus he was the first one who won it the year it transited to clay, not surprising) so I figured the blue clay would favor him and the big hitters but fed is usually good against big hitters so for me it was in the bag... Where you seriously thinking that Nadal or Nole had a chance to adapt fast enough to win this event? Instead it appears they reacted like children and don't even want to play next year... Fed just takes everything that is thrown at him in terms of adaptation... The courts became slow, he put up with it - of course not enough to be able to beat consistently the rest of the top 3 but enough to beat them and to beat consistently the rest of the field - now some of them became much faster, he put up with it. I guess he'd win much more if the courts were constantly changing

Yes I found that article too. But I believe he would play Rome. Getting #2 seeding in RG is very important for winning it.
by his adaptability I of course mean Federer's
*Were you seriously* not where, sorry

mmm, have you seen his reaction after the match?
besides: he got some medicine at the end of the first set...
I think it's 50-50
He got some medecine after the first set? Is he already injured after this long break? I thought some of his mouvement was slow but was not sure whether it was the blue clay or something else.

Well back then I thought they woudl only have to adapt to the colour..nothing else. So well done.....even if he was so close to get out to Rao!
Berdych will replace Ferrer at no.5?
Tsonga is at number 5 anyway. I believe Berdych stays at 7.
Actually the answer to that is in the excellent point tracer thread and yes Tsonga is 5th and Berd at 7th, 50 its behind Ferrer!
