Mancini called it

He's magnificent, a bloody genius in comparison to Stuart 'braincell' Pearce and Keegan. And Hughes.

I actually trust this guy with near enough any decision he makes.

Mancini said Everton would be easy for City, yet they beat you 1 nil. Maybe at times he should show a bit more respect to other teams.

posted on 14/5/12

He came out after and admitted he under-prepared.

Respect to other teams? Like Ferguson? The man hides his arrogance behind being a 'winner'.

Mancini said the Everton game would be easy!? I don't remember that. How about backing that up with some evidence.

It wasn't about respect. It was about facts. Sunderland and Swansea both proved very difficult for us, but Mancini realised the fact that come the end they wouldn't prove as bigger test for Utd as they did when we played them. Spot on.

Theres a difference between having the confidence your team will win and expecting them to and saying that a game is "easy".

Congratulations from a Blade - let's hope that we get a similar "Fergie Time" result in our match tonight.

Hey Blade - I was listening to 606 on the way home from the game last night and some red idiot came on asking "and where did that 5 minutes come from, they have a go at us for that".
Did anyone apart from me see the amount of time Joey Barton took to get off the pitch? Fecking hooligan.
I hope he gets 6 months and they flog him on to MK Dons!

Hey Blade, sorry about selling you a rapist and all that

Makes a change us getting a decent amount of injury time(fergie time). Thank You Joey Barton, without you knowing it you helped us win the title, that's the best bit of football you have played for Man City.

You seem to be getting a fantastic manager confused with a near endless supply of oil money...

Makar - how did spending nearly a hundred million this year work out for you?

Kenny, i've spent 100 Mil, who?

Or Kenny, I won the Prem with Blackburn on a shoestring, who?

That argument is like trying to knock a stone wall down with a wooden hammer!

posted on 14/5/12

I don't know why I am spelling out the obvious flaws in your argument, most of the 100 mill was raised from the sales of players like Torres, Babel, Masch, Alonso. Your money has come from oil. Your wages of 200,000+ for some players, comes from oil money.

Let's face it, any team that had an almost unlimited amount of funds to play fantasy football with some of the best players in the world is going to win a league. So football is now mostly about which club can attract the richest owner. Brilliant.

Don't let that dampen your celebrations though.

Our point is, money alone does not equal success. All the top teams throughout the years have spent big, sky and the Champions League just inflated the issue.

And the money to buy Alonso, Babel, Torres etc came from your previous owners who were just a little miffed they didnt get their money back. It still means you spent 100mil and won the......... CC.
It doesnt matter were the money comes from, that wasnt your original point, it was the money spent that you were crowing about. I was just pointing out that having the money to spend doesnt ipso facto make you a good manager.

How much for the CC!!!!!!!!!

Utd's last two fixtures were easy. Fixtures they got through without trouble. We had two tough games however, and Mancini knew the situation. Refusing to get carried away and pointing these things out, surely helped us to our title yesterday.

congrats on your win, but isnt you statement a bit stupid considering swansea beat you and sunderland took 5 points of you this season?

Fergie time: The time that only works for one team.

Mancini time: errrm

Mancini has done very, very well this season. Has he now finally admitted that Utd aren't favourites anymore?

The only thing that disappointed me was bringing back that idiot Tevez. I was full of respect for the way Mancini handled the spoiled baby until he brought him back.

Other than that, Mancini has handled the role extremely well.

posted on 14/5/12

the problem is, redmisty, once Tevez apologised and made himself available for selection, if Mancini hadn't let him near the first team, Tevez could've terminated his contract under UEFA's "Sporting Fair Chance" rule, meaning he could walk away for nothing (something I imagine Kia Joorabchian was hoping for) by picking him, we can now get a fee for him.
I would've hated seeing Tevez wangling himself a free transfer & walking into another juicy contract.

That's my point Duncan. Mancini, and myself know that there's no easy games in the premier league. However, given Utd's strength in mentality in these situations, Roberto knew they would prove no obstacle. Spot on.

What difference does it make where our money comes from!? Even Fergy acknowledged that it takes a great manager to win this league, even of you do have billions to spend. And for sure, it WON'T upset our celebrations. Now don't you let your bitterness cloud your judgement. Good lad.

posted on 14/5/12

Well if shallow victories are your thing then go for it. And yes, I am bitter, since the premier league is now a case of which owner can provide the most money. brilliant.

Makar, it always has been, your bitter because your not actually making the money to buy it as you did in the 70's and 80's. Liverpool bought there way to the titles in the 60's with the money the Moores suplied. Had Gillette and Hicks put their hands in their pockets you wouldnt be complaining.
I dont mind the bitterness its the stench of hypocrisy thats a bit much.

LEE1PEN (U6707)

Like I said, completely different worlds between the two. The financial gap between City and other clubs is a chasm so wide that hypocrisy doesn't even come close. LFC have never had anywhere near the spending power that you currently have.

Mancini is left with little to do but pick from some of the greatest players in the world all week, whilst the players get to pick up a £200,000 weekly pay to sweeten the deal for those times when they don't get to play.

Nothing but money has won the title for City this season. You would be nowhere near the top without it. Chuck your well versed deflecting defensive comments such as hypocrisy and bitterness all you like, but it won't get you a well-earned PL title, just a bought PL title.
