I died more seeing Clichy and Nasri lifting the cup.

His interview worried me

posted on 14/5/12

clichy won it with us already....and it wasn't 44 years ago

posted on 14/5/12

the interview was fabregas-esque.

I think he's leaving.

why all the angst?

if he goes he goes. we get a big fee for a 29yr old player with one year left on his contract. As good as van persie is.....and he is world class don't get me wrong, he's had ONE good season since he joined in 2005!!!!

I'd rather he stays than goes but we'll be fine.....support Arsenal first, players second

a) He wants to leave. I'd imagine Barce or Real Madrid as an outside bet might be waiting in the wings.

b) He's holding out for a bumper deal.

I hope it's the latter. The club finished 3rd against all the odds, they've already bagged a world class talent in Podolski with rumours abound of more of he same. Not sure what more the club can do...? I hope he stays, but IF he does want out then its' pointless going through the usual pre season torment. Sell him for serious money and reinvest. I hope he stays though...

I will be sad if he leave but it will not be the end of the world.
We sold our best players before so it wouldn't suprise me if we did it again.
As for RVP, he played 37 PL games and he is going to the Euro. The dutch team is really good so expect it to reach at least the semi-final.
Even if he stays, it would be very naive to assume that he'll be able to repeat a similar season.

It's like in his mind he's already gone, especially saying he'll always love the club

posted on 14/5/12

I think that he is genuinely unsure. He wants to know if Wenger and Gazidis are going to push for trophies before committing himself to the club.

================================
To summarise, he said he will always love the club regardless of his decision!

posted on 14/5/12

Seriously now, if you were in his boots what would you say?

RVP: "I Love Arsenal. I will definitely sign. You can smack my ass like a pinata if i don't!"

Gazidis: "Hello Robin. Here's our offer. It's non-negotiable. £60,000 p/w. Take it or leave it. "

I have no Angst. But it would be a major blow if he goes because it has an effect of all others players.

Batmanu: He said that he will sit together this week with Arsenal to sort things out. He was a bit resistent abit like Fabregas "we will see" comment.

Oh dear Tbh he has been saying this sort of stuff for the last couple of weeks. I've been thinking for a while he is softening us all up before he drops the bombshell that he wants out. I hope I'm wrong.

If he does go it's gonna be last summer all over again, as he is our only world class player.

posted on 14/5/12

He wont have another season like this year and will probably get injured during the Euros.

I'd say sell him and find a suitable replacement.

Still Robin though

posted on 14/5/12

We stood by him in his dark days. Would want him to stay but i think Arsene can find a striker to replace his goals.
Interesting summer.

You can't replace the best striker in the world.

,
I am really tempted by Falcao! I am sure he'd suit our system perfectly!

posted on 14/5/12

Falcao?! Can't see us paying the £40m it'd take to bring him over, can you??

I don't think the interview showed anything significant. He's keeping his options open to make us desperate to pay him more. If an offer comes in from Real or Barca, he'll probably leave, but i can't see him going to City or United. If he goes anywhere, it'll be to spain, but I have a feeling he'll stay.

Ha no way we could afford him. He's overrated IMO anyway. I'd prefer Llorente.

We sound like Tottenham fans now.
