Forget to mention the home defeat to The Pie Eaters when they were playing not that well.
Does that mean you don't want us to go back up?
Winning games would be a bit pointless then, wouldn't it?
Going back up is the downside to it unfortunately. Back to the same old same old???????
Tricky one this.........
I know what you're saying, Shanton, but as Vera says, the aim next season is to get straight back up and be a part of it all again.
The all pervading sense of "we must not get relagated, so we must do whatever it takes and if that means 38 goalless draws, then so be it" attitude that we saw under Megson was awful.
We thought Coyle would be able to come in and find a nice blend of what we had before, mixed with a bit more adventure and more attractive football.
But it didn't happen.
And we're down. And whether we like it or not, all we can ever aspire to is getting back in the Prem and taking our place (hopefully) in that bracket between 10th and 17th.
We're never going to get back to what we had under Allardyce and the best we can hope for is survival with a few memorable moments thrown in.
And that's if we're lucky.........
Still, at least we get to play Blackburn, Burnley, PNE and Dirty Leeds next season, so it's not all bad....
Just realised that PNE are in League One.
Christ I've become one of those Premier League fans who hasn't a clue what's going on in the lower leagues.
Need to address that one sharpish.......
You're acting like no decisions went your way this season, what about the game against QPR? That evened out the Bogdan foul yesterday, and as for the penalty lots of decisions are given for those and it's just human error really. Crouch dove we know, but lots of players do it in this day and age and it does need to be stamped out. I'm sorry you went down though, good luck in the Championship but I've voiced my opinions about Coyle on this board. Never rated him and he could've spent better than someone like N'Gog.
I'm sorry to see you guys go, I love the way you've turned your style of play around and obviously our two clubs have been through a fair bit together this season.
To go down based on two ridiculous refereeing decisions by the most incompetent ref in the league is disgusting.
Hope to see you back straight away

That was evened out by their goal which was offside ...
Agree with the OP..I can do without the sky4 propaganda for a while..but only for a season or two. We do need to get back soon but in the meantime I am looking forward to some fairer games in the fizzy pop.
We might actually win a few games next season!
Still intrigued by your spat with the Wednesday fans on here, I had a little look at their board. Found an entire thread all about your relegation. Something about ordering Megson masks for their trip to the Reebok. I really hope that you put a hatful of goals past them, they have even tried to steal "DINGLE" from us
I agree that both the refereeing and the performance of the linesmen were awful yesterday but from where I was sat, it seemed most decisions went Bolton's way. Yes we were lucky with Walters' first goal, but that luck also went your way with 2 fortunate goals.
For me personally, it was also the worst of both worlds - not only would I much preferred to see QPR go down, but Man C winning the title by buying a team (rather than building one, as Utd have done) is typical of all that is wrong with the game at the highest level, a view shared with the OP.
Good luck next season, would love to see you back.
what really hurts is that we will be in a division below Wigan ffs!!!!!
Although I agree with some of the OP in terms of the way the PL is run and the direction it is heading, I can't agree with the Title.
I am definitely not GLAD. But...
I am quite looking forward to next season - some good games ahead.
There's finally a Stoke fan on ja606! Welcome sir.
Arab, you said on the MOTD thread last night you were "happy that thug Davies and his team were gone". Now you're saying you're sorry we've been relegated.
Also everybody keeps banging on about it being even as QPR had a goal disallowed against us, whilst conveniently forgetting the goal they did score was offside.....
Now we are back in div two in old money I have become pretty nostalgic as we were a div 2 side when I first started going to the games in the early seventies.
My first actual game was in 69 but was a one off..started being a fervent regular about 1974 as I recall.
The fact that City bought the title says all you need to know about the premier league and we are well out of it ..but only for a short while!

I've not shown a great deal of respect to your club, but I'm not going to rub it in your faces now you got relegated am I? I'm being thoughtful and showing my respect to you. I've only got a fib with Davies because he injured Cleverley and practically killed off alot of his season. He was bang in form as well which irked me off even more.
Jonny Evans springs to mind....
Yes, knew you'd bring that up but still doesn't stop me disliking Davies.
oneafter909 - very similar era to me. I started watching in 1975 - remember the promotion in 1978 very well.
Considering what we had to endure in the 80's, things are far from catastropic.

Agreed.
Although, I actually enjoyed the eighties. John McGovern wasn't too clever but I enjoyed the freedom and lack of expectation we had back then.
And that's my concern now. We've got a whole generation of fans who have only ever known life in the Prem and they're always going to be benchmarking things against the Allardyce days.
And that's unrealistic.
I just hope they can enjoy us taking three thousand to away games and not worry too much about geting back into the Prem.
Dirty Leeds...
Can't wait!

............
does anyone think that the FA wanted us out?
2 stinking decisions from a referee who was changed a couple of days before with no real reason given...
Don't really buy into the 'conspiracy theory' stuff.
We went down due to poor home form (Wigan and West Brom particularly), and QPR / Wigan got some great results against top teams, which we were unable to do.
