Must be something wrong with the vid, we wouldn't pay 20m for a player that's done sheet all this season?

To be fair to Downing he has created loads of chances this season. Unfortunately we have no one that can convert those chances.

Why couldn't Comolli find us the best player in the world like he did at Tottenham?

Let's take a look at Downing and what he's good at, for a moment before we start the ridicule. What would you say Downing's best attributes are and what does he give the team? I'd say, he's good at taking on his man and getting a cross in and he adds good balance to the side.

Now tell me, in this season, who has he had to cross to? Suarez? Not really, as Suarez likes to drift. So when Downing has been played in the Suarez lone striker nobody in the box no goals system, he hasn't been able to do what he's good at, the thing which Kenny signed him for. On the rare occasion Downing and Carroll have played together, Downing has played on the right, thus defeating his purpose, again. People will get on Downing's back but his game has always been about one thing and that has been taken away from him, with the system Dalglish employs.

It's common sense, Downing is an old fashioned winger, who gets to the line and crosses. Carroll is an old fashioned striker who scores goals with his head, bullies defenders and wins the ball in the air, if you don't intend to play that way, then why buy them? We bought players and we play them in a system which doesn't suit them.

And yet Downing put in the most crosses and got 14 league goals from the right hand side last season.

Kind of undermines your theory really doesn't it.

*most crosses this season

Most crosses as a team in the league.

Downing won player of the season last year from the right.

The top comment is class.

"These's compilation videos do nothing but entice Real Madrid and Barcelona to bid on our best players... Hands off he's ours!!!"
