any half decent manager would have had the title wrapped up february this season. the standard of the league is the worst it's ever been and the only challengers to city were an injury ravaged united team, which even at best, was one of the poorest we've had under ferguson. compare that with the players that mancini had at his disposal. to fail to amass a single point more than united under such circumstances was beyond embarrassing.

your right,City wanna be ashamed of themselves only being able to win the league on GD with all the money and players they've got, they r the Rot of football.

yeah, i won't deny that. it's worth noting however where the money comes from. when united have outspent the competition it's been from self generated income. cash that has been earnt, basically. the polar opposite of city, you see.

there's a banner up at eastlands which reads something like, "city fans thank sheikh mansour". it just goes to show that even their support realise their success has nothing to do with good management. imagine what mancini thinks when he see's that.

But isn't the talk about the managers not where the money came from?

Based on the money spent alone, Fergie in the late 90's early 00's shouldn't have let Wenger, Sir Bobby or Vialli have even a sniff at winning the league, let alone winning it which Wenger did more than once.

Sparkys got to be up there IMO.

he didn't. in 99-00 united won the league by eigteen points, still a record, and scored 97 goals. in 00-01 we won it by ten points, despite playing the kids and losing the last three matches after already having won it.

a team who has heavily outspent us four seasons running and barely suffered a single injury from august till may finished on level points with us. if that to being second best then i'm amelia earhart.

Which he should have done. But in 1999 Vialli and Wenger pushed him right until the end despite having a fraction of his budget and the year before Wenger pinched it off him.

Im not trying to degrade Fergie, its more the Mancini bad manager myth's that is annoying me because he clearly isn't.

Any half decent manager could do what Mancini did with that squad, and do it better.

What inherit a fractious bunch of egos and mould them into a League and Cup winning side in his first 2 seasons?

pep will be at City next season, bet ya.

City got 89 points this season, only United and Chelsea both twice along with Arsenal's invincible's have bettered that tally.

The fact an injury hit United kept up with them is more of a credit to Fergie and the winning mentality they have than an insult to Mancini.

In 06-07 and 07-08 an injury ravaged Chelsea squad both season's kept up with a United team at the peak of their powers and took them to the finish.

That doesn't make Fergie a bad manager for letting an injury ravaged Chelsea keep up with him.

you have to take into account the players mancini had at his disposal, the luck city had with injuries and the overall standard of the league. city should have easily reached one hundred points this season, under the circumstances.

Yep, Tevez and Balotelli would be any managers dream.

surprise surprise, the 'supporters' of the two clubs who have profited from financial doping are sticking together.
