Was only asking for your thoughts lads. Is the current Scholes good enough to do a shift in midfield for us (or too good for us still)? He scores and shoots on target much more than Modric, and still manages to pull the midfield strings. It could give us a big lot of cash to spend on a striker which is what we desperatelyneed along with a centre back (or two...)

No not smoking, but since Luka's head seems to have been turned again and could force his way out, I wouldn't want to sell him to a Top 6 team without getting some sort of like for like player back. I know Scholes only ahs a year left, but he could assist us next season as well as getting a 20m striker in. If we can find the next Croatian Modric or the next best thing through our scouting, I would consider taking Scholes and cashing in on a player who doesn't want to play for us and scores 3 a season

first off, as superb as scholes is why would we want a 38 year old? don't we have enough old crocks in our team. Even if this deal was ever going to be realistic ( which it is not) then it would be more like 50 million plus Scholes. We rejected the c havs 40 million offer so now Modric is worth 50 million

Ok, Scholes & 35million and I would personally drive Luka to Old Trafford. I know Scholes is old, but do we really want another pre-season and start of season last last one where Luka's head was all over the place and affecting the whole squad? A decent 38 year old in midfield is better than a turned head who refuses to play or an expensive bench warmer......
