Depending on the result in the play off final, either Fat Sam or Hollowhead may be available. That's if they're not in for the Barcelona job.

Stretford

My mate (who's a Liverpool fan) said the same thing. They're stuck in the dark ages some of these fans. They finished 8th, not 8pts clear.

Fred, you did say when Pep resigned your club should be aiming for someone like him to manage your club when Kenny goes.

No champions league football to offer as well.

They are aiming too high. They think Roberto Martinez would be a poor choice. I think he would do really well there.

Liverpool have history though. We can't have it both ways when we argue with City about our history. I think a top manager - maybe not Pep but who knows - would see it as an appealing challenge. Especially if there's money to spend.

Funny thing is we all laugh at Henderson/Downing/Carrol but all three are in the England squad. Carrick/Scholes/Rio aren't

They still consider themselves to be among Europe's elite. They are still a big club, yes, but no way on earth can they attract some of the world's finest players and managers at the moment.

Admin you may have deleted my post but surely you agree

united have a richer history and can also offer any future manager champions league football, wich makes us a far more appealing proposition.

Scholes is retired, Rio is probably not fit enough and Carrick's exclusion is more to do with a lack of understanding than anything.

Not really. Liverpool are a club big enough to be back up there. You need to face facts and accept that we are a sleeping giant - we're not gone forever.

I was thinking the same when I heard a number of the Liverpool fans texts read out on SSN. Can any one of them seriously think Pep G would go to Liverpool?? No manager could suddenly turn them into a top 4 team so what would a top guy get out of going there other than potentially damaging their reputation.

This is not a particularly anti-Liverpool comment as I'd say the same if West Brom fans suggested Pep could take over from Hodgson or Everton fans said the same about taking over from Moyes. I'd be amazed if Pep even considered Spurs and they have a hugely better squad and a much better chance of league success.

Can you imagine the shock on the next Liverpool manager's face when he is told by the owners, that they spent all £100mil of their transfer money on Carroll, Henderson and Downing last summer

Lucas the Destroyer, as long as you were just showering that's fine.

I agree Liverpool will be back at some point. As for the Henderson/Downing/Carrol thing, most Liverpool fans wouldn't want them in the England team because they accept they are pretty much, or have been, 5hit.

Scholes was open minded about playing for England. Hodgson clearly wasn't.

Certain lunatics among your fan base don't think so.

They are wanting to go further backwards and appoint Rafa.

gutted that doglish is gone but they have very little money to spend thanks to him keeping them out of the champions league so they won't be a threat for a long long time.
