Usually I wouldn't mind Liverpool players in the squad. They usually have some of the best English talent around. Not this year though.
I genuinely agree 100% with the OP.
As us liverpool fans have been told 10000 times roy is an excellent manager, so i don't understand how he made the wrong choices?
i dont understand this big thing about downing! Ashley Young will start ahead of him anyway and micah richards has never been one of the best right backs in England. Roy has picked a good squad and i don't understand why you want us to play pretty attractive passing football when the footballers we have are nowhere near as good as Spain's,Germany's and the dutch. Play football how were good at it, physical in the air on the counter like we did against Spain when we beat them. I am just wondering why you haven't mentioned milner as a bad choice?
I don't rate Milner that highly, but there's no denying that out of the wide men in that squad Downing jumps out as the one who shouldn't be there.
How can you not understand the Downing thing? The thing is that he is an awful player who doesn't deserve to be in the squad.
Milner was a bad choice. He hasn't played nearly often or well enough to warrant a place in the squad. But this article is about Liverpool players being picked despite each and every one of them having a poor season personally. Unless Milner is soon to be a Liverpool player?
Downing has had a bad season but Lennon is a right midfield and can't cross with his left foot so he would be useless and Johnson has hardly played this season he doesn't deserve to be in the team because he doesn't play enough and is just at city for the money.
in the last two years only ashley young has assisted more goals for england than downing (young - 5, downing - 4)

Could that be that Young and Downing have had more caps in the last 2 years than any other wingers? Just wondering.
