I think we should stick Bale at left back and bring in a new left winger, there's more of them about and would make us more of a threat in my opinion. Providing we get a top class left winger that is!
---
Doo doo - I think the left side fine as if aslong bale sticks to the left!
It's more the fact it's the only way to keep Bale on the left is to stick him in at left back, he's been useless at left wing with that free role!
If he stayed in his position then I'd prefer him there but he doesn't so it's basically like playing with 10 men cos you never see him!

------
simple. take the free role off him.
bale at left back is fine in certain games, but all too often we dont keep the ball well enough.... our striker loses a ball played up to him about 50% of the time, making is very vulnerable to counter attacks
I reckon we all wish we could wave our wands and make Harry stop playing him in a free role, but while he plays left wing Harry will keep licking his backside and let him wander every where doing nothing.
i am not even convinced its harry.
i reckon harry knows bale is best on the left.
i think bale just does it and harry wont conflict with him, or drop him, so he tells the media that bale does it to come and look for the ball to infulence the game.
bale needs to play on the touchline. get tommy back in the side next year pinging balls to his feet, isolate his fullback, take him on and beat him. simple

Nor hard feelings but I am merely putting over my point of view, some like it, some do not so I really do not see why I would need to move to another site.
I think you may be better to direct the same question to the several Arsenal wums that regularly plague our board with their anti Spurs tripe.

id be happy with that.
it lets you play sandro and livermore in the middle with 2 up top (with lennon on the right). to me that's solid and attacking at the same time.

livermore as a first choice cm
livermore is OK at best... to pick him at first choice cm in a team trying to consolidate top 4 and push on, is laughable.
ridiculous even
★ Munich henge ★
I would hope that some of our youngsters are given a real big chance next season. Livermore and Sandro as a partnership in midfield, possibly Caulker at the back, even Rose maybe if Benny is injured.
Livermore I have been particularly impressed with and could save the club a fortune.
sandy brown have you lost your mind?
i like seeing lads come through the academy but lets get real.
if anyone is deluding themselves that livermore should be playing in cm ahead of huddlestone then they need a good wack round the head to sort them out.
i can confirm having seen livermore live about 20 times this season, that he is a reasonable premier league standard player... nothing special.. has held his own, nothing more.
Chronic
I had not realised you had already laughed at Robs suggestion of Livermore and Sandro, before I posted the same suggestion.
I reckon it would be quite good. Only my opinion mind you, you are obviously entitled to your own. I was also forgetting Huddlestone may be back next season as well.
sandy
see what i just wrote.
i hate it when people say that i hate livermore... quite the opposite... but i am just realistic.
chronic - what do you perceive as livermore's weaknesses ?
Chronic
Livermore does seem to be developing quite well though, one year on and who knows how good he could become. You seem to forget Huddlestone has been there for a lot lot longer, so obviously has more experience.
chronic - what do you perceive as livermore's weaknesses ?
----
he doesnt have a particular weakness, although he is sloppy in possession at times.
that said, he doesnt have a particular strength either.
he is not an out and out dm, and he is not an out and out attacking cm. he is reasonable on the ball and fairly mobile and quite confident..... thus i said he is a reasonable prem league player.
he doesnt compare to huddlestone who you can identify immediately his strengths.... an exquisite passer of the ball.
Livermore does seem to be developing quite well though, one year on and who knows how good he could become.

agree 100%. but for this coming season how can he be in the team ahead of someone of huddlestones proven quality at this level?

Sandy I know what your saying just wanted a nice spurs related article for a change as getting fed up reading the constant we're bigger than you or you best players are leaving etc!
Anyway back on subject said this to chronic yesterday I don't believe caulker ready for us yet and should spend another year on loan with hopefully Swansea!
Livermore is good back up but that's it! Not sure why everyone bigging up huds as he's should be used as back up to! Got a gd pass but that's about it.
We need to go up a level than what we got already
Chronic
I know Huddlestone pings the ball around well, but I think that Livermore is a much stronger all round player, more energy, and is able to get around the pitch at a quicker pace, maybe both could be accommodated. Mind you Huddlestone has had a long lay off, so needs to prove his fitness first.
he is not an out and out dm, and he is not an out and out attacking cm.
===================
im not having a go here, but i really dont understand how that is a weakness. the fans' inability to pidgeon hole a player in no way makes the player any less of a player, imo.
i just see him as a central midfield player who can tackle, pass and run. to me, the fact that he cant be pidgeon holed as a particular type of player is because he doesnt have a weakness, rather than because he is missing some particular strength.
i dont personally think the allegation of being sloppy on the ball is fair. from what ive seen he gives the ball away less than huddlestone or modric and gets caught on the ball less too. for his strengths, he's fast (for a cm player) has a good range of passing, reads the game well, works hard and tackles. he hasnt got the mobility of modric or the dribbling skills of ben arfa, but for me he's a very good package as a cm player.
but I think that Livermore is a much stronger all round player, more energy, and is able to get around the pitch at a quicker pace, maybe both could be accommodated.

sandro does that.
next season midfield....
sandro/parker huddlestone/modric
modric/vdv
that said.. i would be happy for livermore to take up a place if others were injured.
i am actually one of the few spurs fans who appreciates jenas' energy and he is coming back too next year.. so livermore might even be sent on loan.

I honestly do not think that Spurs are not too far away. The team played some excellent football, dominated many, many games, but just need to turn some of the draws into wins. It might help if we could start getting a few last minute winners like all the other teams around us managed, to secure three points instead of perhaps just the one.
Surely we will get off to a better start next season, doubt we will have to play the two Manchester clubs first two games. The referees cannot be so bad next season can they? All these little things add up over a season. And yet we still managed to finish a creditable 4th.
All in all 4th position was gained this season, when a few things were against us. And yes I know it is OK to say, but we blew a 10 points lead, but even United blew an 8 point lead in their last half a dozen games. It happens, no doubt the club will have learnt. Sometimes you have to just park the bus to secure a point, instead of just going all out gung ho attack, and getting done on the break.
I am pretty well pleased with the way our club is progressing, and in my opinion the team does not need major overall surgery to just push on that little bit more next season.
I like Livermore and I expect him to have a long future with Spurs. But I agree with Chronic in that for now he strikes me as a jack of all trades sort of player but a master of none if that makes sense.
He's decent in a number of areas and therefore a very useful player and should be a great asset to the club, but he hasn't got one particular talent which you can distinguish from him.
Who knows what could happen in the future though, maybe he will develop into an extremely rounded player with a multitude of talents.
adolf brown
I agree not to far away. I think we need
2 x CB ( or caulker stays but rather him go on Loan)
1 x winger ( needs to be able to play on both sides )
2 x strikers ( target man ie adebayour/Llorente type and a real clinical striker )
