Had Sir Viv batted today, particularly in the IPL, he would have demolished everything.
He also played when there was no 'one bouncer per over' rule, without helmets and other protective gear bar gloves and pads.
When Gilchrist gets a Knighthood for his services to cricket then possibly you can start to compare. That will put him in the illustrious company of Richards, Hadlee, Sobers and Cowdrey.

I paid good money to watch England play all the test teams and when on sparkling form Viv Richards, Graham Gooch, Brian Lara and Graeme Smith leave the rest floundering in their wake.
