FA Premier League 12/13

Renegade, Have you read my article on it? I have posted my concerns about it and I have mentioned about bans for stuff like this and fines which is apoorpaite really.

If you deliberately handball it, you get a booking or sometimes even a red card which leades to suspesnsions and professional fouls lead to the same thing if you do it consistently.

So if you blatantly dive in the box consistently then you should a fine or ban for it. A booking doesn't really stop players from doing it does it.

I don't see how a fine is appropriate. Completley disagree. A booking is the right punishment in my opinion, and if you continually get booked for diving then you will get the same suspensions as you would for any other bookable offence.

Cheating happens in football. There were no fines for Maradona or Henry for handballs that led to goals.

To blatantly kick a player to take him down when he has a great chance of creating/scoring will usually only result in a yellow card(other than last man/clear scoring opp obviously). Commentators will say, its a "good yellow card to take", "a yellow card for the team" etc.

Hacking someone down is just as much cheating as diving. Why is deliberatley taking someone down, viewed so differently to someone deliberatley going down themselves?

Sorry Typo 'appropriate' I was meant to say.

I see your point and arguably I could agree but I couldn't really. But with people getting booked they think, so what, I'm only getting bookd, I get a 1 match suspension, it doesn't bother I'll come back and do it again. If people constantly do it the bans will lead to furhter action and eventually they will stop doing it.

All referee's make mistakes and I'd agree they were one's that should have been spotted and shouldn't have stood but they did because the referee missed it. Everyone makes mistakes, they are flawless. Also, to say the amount of stick ref's get after a poor decision is awful, they don't actually do a bad job in honesty. It was human error that led to them 2 midtakes more than anything.

Of course they would and that I'd agree with but when you dive like Suarez did surely more than booking? He didn't even get booked for a start . But to say they were going to at least make an effort on Huth's 'stamp' on Suarez after the dive, surely you would think if Huth got a fine then surely Suarez would as well?

Because there is ontact. There is only so much a player can take before going down really. If you being hacked down you would try and stay on your feet to see if you can make a chance but after a while you do go down and win a set piece really don't you.

The slightest bit of contact hauled Suarez to the ground, now that is very dramatic, no? He was first off going to stay on his feet but a split second later he just fell to the ground. I don't know what he was thinking.

but if this could be solved and stopped quickly, it would make football a much better sport really and more professional really rather than everyone being so soft and complaining over things that wouldn't even be a free-kick 25 years ago. It is a disgrace if you ask me.

Don't think you've really replied to my point at all. My point is that diving is no worse than any other form of cheating that goes on, how is deliberately going down any worse than deliberately hacking a player down? Both could have consequences, one being it could result in conceding a goal and dropped points the other could mean an injury for an important player as well as stopping a scoring opportunity.

I agree diving is cheating, but there’s other forms of cheating in the game which aren’t punished so harshly, so I don’t see why diving should be.

I also don’t think football would be as interesting without cheating. Where there's a will there's a way if you like. If there's no will to win by any means possible, then I don't think football would be as entertaining. Would also mean less to talk about.

There will always be cheating of some form. Can influence referees in other ways, be it likes of Fergie time, claiming for a corner/throw in when that player knows it came off them last, claiming offside when there is no offside. All could be construed as forms of cheating.

posted on 8/10/12

Of course there will always be cheating but then again to have this stopped or cut out slightly maes it look a better Sport. How many times do you see Cricketers or Tennisers cheat? Never really because there isn't a way to cheat which there is in football.

Aye apart from the match fixing

posted on 8/10/12

If there wasn't a way to cheat in football it would be the best sport known to man and always will be no matter what. But I question that really.

With the technology these days and what is soming through is remarkable so if technology in someway was enforced in football, like the new watch and hawk eye for goal line technology, there would be no problems so if something could be enforced, there wouldn't be a problem.

It is the best sport known to man

It would be impossible to have a game of football without any opportunity to cheat. It just wouldn't be football.

Hey Hodgey, are you sure the Sunderland-Stoke score's correct??

I'm not complaining about winning But I assumed BVB won coz loads of people predicted him to get it. Although I don't know how you're getting the final scores so I may be wrong

I think Sunderland fielded 2 injured players which gave you 2 goals. You would have lost otherwise but that is the penalty for Sunderland fielding injured players.

Morning guys. Anyone up for a deal. Was close to a couple yesterday but neither happened. Hoping for success today.

Who has Gomez? He was kept by someone before the draw but I cannot find him now.
