Only one Indian in your team, I just hope Rex doesn't read this.

lol

he would moan if I had XI

Ganguly and Dev were the only two that were close.

I'd take Hadlee out and put Imran Khan in TBH.

Surprise surprise

Imran, Dev or Hadlee would be fine with me.

Why does Marshall never get picked in an All Time ODI XI?

posted on 8/7/11

You couldn't go wrong with that team

This one might be more explosive

Gayle
Jayasuriya
Sehwag
Gibbs
Kallis
Inzamam
Dhoni
Pollock
Shahid Afridi
Vaas
Warne

Shanky
Marshall's ODI record was I don't think not that great.

May I respectfully suggest Flintoff ginger? 169 wickets at 24.3 with an economy rate of 4.3 AND a batting average of 32 at a s/r of almost 90.
Flintoff in place of Hadlee?

posted on 8/7/11

I never realised his stats were that good, TBH.

Yes, he could be another who could replace Hadlee.

Lydne
Maybe Botham as well?

Difficult to fit him in but Alan Donald was a fine one day bowler with a great record, but where do you fit him in.
Sadly we never got to see him on the international stage, but i think Vincent Van Der Bijl would have made most people's one day teams had he been playing in the right era, sadly he was lost to international cricket.
I would also pick Khan over Hadlee, i suppose the batting helps split them for me.

Waqar as well was a great ODI bowler.

Mike Procter was a great one day bowler in CC domestic cricket.

Why not there has to be some bias doesnt there?

........

Good call, sadly another great player lost to international cricket, a great loss for SA but a huge gain for Gloucestershire or Proctershire as they were called. A fine record inn all forms of the game, but a cracking one day record to go with it

Clive Rice as well.
Not sure he would have been as good as Imran etc but he was a good player for Notts.

Imran's ODI bowling record isn't as good as Flintoff's

Mike Procter was malingering long before Malinger was born.

Fair point, although Khan does win in the batting stakes, by the smallest of margins !
But ok Freddie for no other reason than i miss seeing him bowl.

Dev only averaged 23 with the bat, so that would rule him out. Chris Cairns is another but his stats are behind Flintoff's.

I didn't see Micheal Bevan play often but when pundits are talking about great ODI players his name always comes up.
Considering how often Australia have won the WC, two players in your team seems mean.

Four players.

Sorry ginger, my counting is as bad as my spelling today (Malinga).
Incidently, was Lara a top ODI player?

posted on 8/7/11

I think Lara averaged about 44.

Not sure who else could have been picked?

Dean Jones or Kallis perhaps?

posted on 8/7/11

As much as I like Kallis I dont think he is an ODI no 5.He has to bat in the top 3 in ODI cricket.
Kallis for Ponting perhaps?
Ginger you dont have a credible sixth bowling option so Kallis for Ponting maybe a good idea mate.
